The Coach House sits in the grounds of St. Michaels House, the old rectory, in the pretty hamlet of Poughill.
We are in the middle of Devon, 25 minutes from the City of Exeter with easy access to Dartmoor and Exmoor and the North and South Coast beaches. We are very close to several magnificent National Trust properties, and even closer to some great gastro pubs.
The coach House is full of light and very spacious. The decor is homely and there are many artefacts from our travels in Africa. The kitchen is well equipped and includes washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer
In the pretty private garden our guests can enjoy a bbq whilst enjoying the sunset.
Should extra space be required we can offer a twin bedded room with own shower room in the main house.

The village has a children's playground and this can be accessed from our garden. On those wet days we have a table tennis table and table football in our garage which guests can use on request.
The Coach House is surrounded by wildlife. Foxes, badgers and rabbits are common in the garden and surrounding fields and this summer a hedgehog set up home behind the Coach House.
For birders, this is raven and buzzard country and from the backdoor you can see almost all the common garden birds including tree creepers and greater spotted woodpeckers and summer visitors such as chiff chaffs, blackcaps, whitethroats and spotted flycatchers. Tawny owls are noisy at night in autumn and the sparrow hawks are never far away. Less common birds seen from the Coach House include firecrests, wood warblers, red kites and, just once, a ring ouzel.
