The Little Lodge is a fabulous little "glamping" pod that sits in a grassland paddock. Inside is simple and cosy offering most things a guest could need within one small, but well-appointed, space. Although just off a 'b' road, it is remote and there are no facilities within walking distance. It is the perfect getaway for those wanting peace and quiet. A hot shower after exploring the local environment followed by a glass of wine on the deck or by the stove is the perfect way to end the day.
The Little Lodge is a small, simple but very cosy space. Inside, Chili Billi wood burning stove keeps guests warm and toasty whilst also being able to double up as a cooker. There is a small TV, DAB radio and a well appointed kitchen with an under counter fridge that has a small freezer space. Parking is on a designated hard standing close to the Lodge. and guests are requested please to use this and not park on the grass. The paddock perimeters have recently been planted up with native tree species and meadow grasses, and the setting offers peace and seclusion with stunning views out to the Lammermuir hills yet is only a 20 min train journey from Scotland’s beautiful capital city of Edinburgh. Being just 1 mile from the A1 guests are only a 15 min drive south from a round of golf at Eyemouth Golf course, the course which boasts one of the UK's most difficult holes! A few miles further south, Sub Aqua enthusiasts can enjoy a dive at the world renowned St Abbs Dive Centre. Berryhill is also on a national cycle track and offers an abundance of fabulous cycle routes to try.

Guests are asked to please park on the hard standing and not on the grass as this has all been recently seeded. There is a toaster and a George Forman Grill in the back of the kitchen cupboard. They are left in the cupboard to provide more space on the work surfaces. The Chiminea fire (remember to take the chimney cover off before lighting!) needs to be started with small amounts of wood so that it dries out and reaches cooking heat slowly. If the fire becomes to hot too quickly it will crack the clay, so please, sit back and relax whilst it reaches the right heat. We have provided 'outside' wood for the Chiminea please don't use the inside wood as this is very low moisture well seasoned wood that allows the little stove to work beautifully. The bed is a solid oak futon which although a little heavy to get up and down is very comfortable to sleep on - some guests leave it down for the duration of their stay but be aware when the futon is down here is very little space left!!
Berryhill has a private water supply which is tested by environmental heath each year.
Please park on the hard standing and don't drive on the grass as this has been seeded. The Chiminea is clay and BBQ coals will damage the clay and cause it to crack so please only use the outside wood provided.
We provide seasoned wood for use in the ChiliBilli wood-buring stove inside the lodge. Please ONLY use the seasoned wood provided and do not use anything other than wood (eg coal or BBQ bricks) in the stove as it will break it.
We have a Mexican hammock for the enjoyment and relaxation of our guests but please kindly remove your shoes before using the hammock otherwise the fine mesh is likely to be damaged and once broken it is not repairable. thank you for taking the time to read our 'respectfully requested' house rules and we hope you have a wonderful holiday.
