Short term availability last 2 weeks in August has opened up! After September 12 I will be looking for a long-term renter. Minimum stay 2 months. JUNEAU STONE'S THROW COTTAGE
Location Location - in the heart of downtown Juneau - a stone's throw away from coffee houses, restaurants, tourism activities, state and legislative offices, and all the sites Alaska's capital city has to offer. A place of your own - no shared walls - a recently remodeled, modern efficiency cottage, ideal for 1 or 2 people. Boasting a comfortable queen-size wooden wall-bed, and fully furnished with a functional kitchen and a full bath. The kitchen is set up to cook for yourself if desired - with pots and pans and basic condiments and spices, coffee and tea provided, unless you'd rather use the discount coupons to nearby participating restaurants. Electronics include broadband wireless internet, flat screen tv with local cable and HBO, and a DVD player with some current DVD movies provided. The clock radio/alarm clock will also play and charge your iphone/ipod.
This centrally located home is literally steps away from Juneau's art and entertainment hub, the shopping district, a great health food store, museums, the State Capitol Building, and hiking trails that, within minutes, take you up to incredible views of Gastineau Channel. Close enough that you will be able to come home to rest or grab a jacket in between outings, whether you're catching a float plane at the dock or catching an important meeting with the Governor.
Quote is for one day - ask about week long price reductions (stay 7 days pay for 6), off-season discounts, repeat visit discounts, SE outlying community residential discount, adventure packages and 'sister' lodging in nearby Gustavus. Looking forward to your inquiry.

I check in with my guests after arrival, allowing them to get settled. You are provided with a door combination for ease of arriving on your own schedule. It seems texting is becoming the best way to communicate - with at least one introductory meeting to shake hands. Tight schedules and early morning departures often make it difficult to meet up, but taking walks on local hikes together and a sharing a dinner out have been known to happen.

We've got the best health food store, Rainbow Foods, located less than 2 blocks away. They have anything you might need and serve a great organic buffet lunch.

Artist, traveler, long-time Alaskan, and great risk- taker. My home is in the little remote town of Gustavus, but I moved into the "big city" of Juneau to take a job. I tell folks "I'm 'In Town' for a decade". So, I've fixed my Gustavus home, renamed it as the Gustavus Getaway, and hired Lori as Manager to share my Gustavus home with visitors during the summer months. Lori and I have been friends for years and business partners in the past. Lori has been in Alaska for 29 years and I hope you love her service to you as much as I appreciate her returning as my manager! I bought a place in Juneau, along with the adjacent home, built in 1910, with the intent of renovating them for the fun of it. With the vision of putting a roof-garden on top of the cottage right in the middle of downtown Juneau (stay tuned!)!, the renovation project seems to have taken on a life of its own - resulting in the Stone's Throw Cottage. The two cottages are just asking for an adventure package to link them together via a 20-minute plane ride or a 4-hour ferry ride; still working on that. Thus far I have met wonderful people who have appreciated the two places separately - and I have appreciated hearing about, and being a part of, their traveling adventures.
