DikkopVlakte is a lovely guest farm in the beautiful Eastern Cape, where you can hear the stillness, see the stars, breath in the fresh karoo air, and just enjoy the beauty of the "vlaktes", incredible views from the mountain and magnificent sunrises and sunsets.
Bring your hiking shoes/bikes or off-road vehicle to enjoy the farm

Perfect for families, farm holidays, events or functions and accommodate 21 people on beds and even more on mattresses.

Die Unterkunft
Set in tranquil surrounds, this lovely and beautiful 1892 Country House on DikkopVlakte is situated on a 4300ha working small-stock farm (sheep and goats) and only an hour and a half from PE, 25 min from Grahamstown and Bedford and very easily accessible from the main road. It is the ideal place to find rest and restoration for your soul.

We offer 6 bedrooms (1 Queen and 1 Double bed, the rest single beds) and 3 bathrooms with many entertainment areas and lovely verandas. A fireplace in the lovely huge lounge, and a spacious braai area indoors. The kitchen is fully equipped with all necessities , ample fridge and freezer space, a 5 burner gas stove, and a dishwasher to make life easy.

A fully equipped flatlet (Queen bed) with its own entrance can be rented on its own or with the house depending on the size of the group.

There is a large garden with camping space (without electricity), and a semi open ablution with 4 gas showers and 4 toilets.
The big dam is a delight in summer months. (Take note, its not a swimmingpool, but a farm dam, and very deep. So bring a poolnoodle with. It might be a bit difficult for the eldery to get out, as there is only a ladder and no steps inside, or out)

Arukah - a place of healing and restoration

You have the farm with all the open space for yourselves. Where children and friends can laugh, play and run around, without the worry of being too loud.

Hello dear visitor. I am a farmers wife, and mom to 3 home schooled and very adventurous girls. We are an Afrikaans family, but can speak English fluently. We are spontaneous and without pretense, also friendly, no.. very friendly... or that's what they say! We love our life, animals and our lifestyle. Apart from our own children, we have some other sons and daughters as well, and we just love people and building positivity and truth into their lives. Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of marrying a real farmer, and having a beautiful old house. I'm blessed, cause I got both. Through hard work though. But I know you are also blessed in many areas of your life. I LOVE beauty. I love nature. I love hiking . I love reading. I LOVE IT when people are real and without pretense. Oh yes, and I love food. We are a fun family. My dream was to create a place where people can experience rest and restoration. And I hope and believe, that once you have visited DikkopVlakte, you will never forget that atmosphere. It is build on an atmosphere of love. Where ever you go today, may you remind yourself how loved you are.
