Nestled in the Marin headlands, we're in the perfect location for exploring the Bay Area! The two bedrooms, each with private bath, and den with sofa bed are in lower level of our house. Private entrance but not separate from the rest of the house.
Mill Valley Tree House
2 bedroom/2 bath; private entrance
Nestled in the Marin headlands, surrounded by oak and bay trees and a wide variety of wildlife, we are in the perfect location for exploring the Bay Area. (See our neighborhood description!) The entire lower level of our home is reserved for our guests. The lower level is accessible from the upstairs/main entrance of the house or from the private entrance on the deck. The lower level is not closed off from the rest of the house, but it is your private space. Upon entering the lower level there is a den equipped with a television (no cable but we do have Netflix, VCR, DVD, and lots of movies), refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and a sofa. There is no kitchen and no cooking is permitted. The sofa converts into a double bed, but using the sofa as a bed is only an option when you use THIS listing to rent the entire lower level. The Muir Woods Room has an en suite bathroom (shower only), a queen bed and is large enough to comfortably add a futon or air mattress. The Mount Tamalpais Room has a private bathroom across the hall (with tub and shower) and a queen bed. Individual rooms are listed separately but reservations are open only one month in advance because we prefer to rent the entire lower level.
Coffee and tea are always available. There is Wi-fi throughout the house and the Muir Woods Room has a desktop computer.

Weitere wichtige Infos
We have an indoor cat who has NO access to the bedrooms and is unlikely to go down to the den. He is not allowed outside because our neighbors include raccoons, squirrels, deer, turkeys, all kinds of birds and an occasional coyote. We are on a hillside and a car is highly recommended for getting to the house and traveling around the Bay Area. We are on a narrow, two-way road approximately 1/4 mile up from the main street and parking is limited.
For the enjoyment and comfort of our guests, there is a 10 pm to 7 am quiet time in the house (the area is very quiet except for the sounds of birds announcing the morning), no cooking, no smoking and no pets. It is essential that our guests are respectful of our neighbors' privacy and parking. We ask you to please take care of everything as if it were your home. If there is any damage, please let us know so we can take care of it right away. Please do not invite others into our home.

My husband, John, and I love to go hiking and swimming and enjoy reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends. John rides his bike just about everywhere and is active in our community (actor in local plays, volunteering for community events). We enjoy good conversation about any and all things. I work in San Francisco and John works from home as a web designer, communications strategist and writer (including novels!). We use Airbnb whenever we travel and we like to stay in places that are warm and welcoming, clean, neat and peaceful. We offer the same to our guests.
