A very well laid out 5-bedroom home in the fantastic and trendy city-centre neighbourhood of Ranelagh. This is the perfect home for a large group of business travellers, company retreat, or a family reunion. The home is only a 5-minute walk away from the Luas line stop (the city tram system) and within close proximity to a number of lovely and charming cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops.

There were 9 of us staying here, and overall, we were not happy with our stay. We met Máire when we first arrived because she was doing something with the trash, and she was very nice, but after that, things went downhill. As soon as we walked in, we saw that the downstairs toile…

Unfortunately, truth and accuracy are of no importance for Dominic. The extent of falsehoods in his reporting is quite alarming. Untruth Number 1: “As it turned out, she also owns that house next door.” Stating a ‘lie’ such as this in a review is unforgivable and reflects clearly the degree of credibility one can ascribe to the assertions in Dominic’s ‘review’! Time constraints have not allowed me to manage the short-term rental at this property. Therefore, I engaged the services of a Support Team to look after all aspects of the operation. I have no personal direct involvement. I do, however, ensure that I carry out regular checks of the property and coincidentally, I carried out a check immediately prior to the arrival of Dominic and his party. When Dominic communicated about matters during the course of his stay, he was actually communicating with the Support Team and, as he admits, the broken cistern handle of the downstairs toilet was attended to promptly. This handle was not broken, however, when I carried out the check on the property, immediately prior. 9 adults arrived, complete with copious amounts of luggage, in two huge vehicles, one of which was a large jeep. The parking space available can accommodate 2 medium sized family cars but not extremely large vehicles. The drivers showed complete disregard for private property rights and were prepared to abandon their rented cars anywhere. One driver had to be asked to remove his car from the driveway of a nearby house. He then parked in the space of the next door house, blocking in a car. I told him that he must remove his vehicle from there promptly as the people next door would return with their cars after work. He assured me that he would do that but, in fact, it emerged later that he did not do so. Instead, according to the neighbours’ report to me, all of the guests went out and did not return for several hours causing the owner of the blocked-in car a delay of 5 hours in being able to get his car out. Further, according to the neighbours’ report to me, Dominic’s party knocked on their door late on the second night of their stay expecting the neighbours to remove their cars from their own parking area to make way for the guests to park there instead. Dominic and his party do not appear to understand that they have no right to disturb or interfere with neighbours and that neighbours’ ground/parking area cannot be trespassed upon. I do not live in the vicinity, myself and I do not know the neighbours. The neighbours whose parking area Dominic encroached upon are renters and not owners of the house they occupy. Other holiday guests who had cars, parked in the correct parking area and no issues arose for anybody. Dominic states that “the location was perfect” and he describes the house as “pretty bare bones”. I agree that the location is superb and, as the pictures show, the house is well and comfortably furnished. Dominic may choose to call that “bare bones”. I call it well designed and clutter-free to suit people’s needs, knowing that nobody wants to be surrounded by other people’s clutter. I wonder if Dominic and his party considered hostel accommodation where they might be lucky enough to find a 4/8 bedded room at a cost not greatly in excess of what they paid for their Airbnb accommodation in Ranelagh. Of course, parking of any kind would not exist.

Maire's place was right in the middle of a great neighborhood with nice restaurants and grocery down the block, very close to the Leus light-rail that brought you to the center of town in 5+ minutes. The home is clean, minimalist and easy enough to work showers and heat in home t…
