Lounge Holidays are thrilled to offer this really special, coastal view, large family holiday home. Goronyw Cottage, ‘on The Rock’ in Barmouth has it all? This gorgeous grade 2 listed property has many original features, including a splendid inglenook fireplace with big wood burner, slate flag & stripped pine flooring and Georgian sash windows with wooden shutters. The West facing period veranda and large sun decked terrace provide stunning coastal views. There are 5/6 bedrooms and 4 bathroom in this traditional stone built cottage. Newly decorated in 2015 and with mainly new furniture, this fabulous property sleeps 10-12 guest. WIFI of course.

Miles of sweeping sandy beaches and stunning walks are just a stone’s throw from the cottage. As well as a fantastic location with views of the Harbour, Beach, The Mawddach Estuary and The Llyn Peninsula, this home is only a 2 minutes’ walk to Barmouth town centre with its shops and good pubs/eateries. The cottage is situated on The Rock, accessed via 42 medieval stone steps off the main street near the harbour, so it’s not suitable for guests with mobility issues. The steps are not particularly steep and it only take a minute to walk up to the property, any reasonably active person, of any age will not have a problem. There is no designated parking, but guests have two parking permit for the main car park 400m away at no extra cost to you.

From the lounge, kitchen & dining room & the main bedrooms, plus the veranda & terrace you can watch the waves roll in and experience spectacular sunsets over the bay. With our west facing holiday cottage, you could be soaking up the sun all day long then enjoying dining Al-Fresco on the lovely terrace while watching the sun set over Cardigan Bay, with the mountains as a backdrop.

Surrounded by The Snowdonia National Park, Goronwy Cottage is ideally situated for whatever type of holiday you want. For those with families, miles of sweeping sandy beaches await you. If you're into cycling or horse riding, there are numerous scenic places to ride. This is a walker paradise with The Mawddach & Dyffryn Trail very close and Cader Idris just a 20 minutes' drive away! If you're not the active type, then how about a ride on the Cambrian Coast Express all the way along this glorious coast line.

ACCOMODATION:

DOWNSTAIRS Entering from the veranda into the kitchen/diner both areas feature exposed beamed ceilings & pitched pine floors.

Kitchen

The kitchen area next to the dining area is separated by a breakfast bar. The kitchen has a newly fitted kitchen units with gloss laminate worktops and coordinating splashbacks, a 'Belling' range cooker with 2 ovens & a warming oven, 6 ring gas hob & hot plate, extractor hood over, integrated dishwasher, 1.5 bowl sink & drainer with mixer tap, tall fridge/freezer (in the cellar is an addition fridge/freezer), 4 slice toaster, microwave & food processor. It is equipped with everything you would expect in a premium holiday home kitchen, inc all the crockery.

Dining Room

The spacious dining area has lovely sea views framed by the veranda, sash window with panelling, pitch pine floorboards (reclaimed timber from the last Barmouth Bridge refurbishment), ‘Haverland’ electric heater, exposed beams and a lovely big wooden dining table with 8 chairs and additional folding chairs.

Sitting room

Through to the large sitting room with the focal point being the stone inglenook fireplace with a big woodburner. Additional entrance door, Georgian sash window with shutters, enjoying lovely sea views, slate flagstone floor, exposed beams, ‘Haverland’ electric storage heater, beamed ceilings, cosy seating for at least 8, inc 2 X 3 seaters, and 2 X armchairs, plus other period wooden chairs and a chunky ‘craft’ wooden coffee table. There is flat screen 32” SMART Freesat TV & DVD.

Boot Room & Separate Toilet
Storage for boots & coats. WC wash hand basin. Iron, Airer & ironing board. We also have a cot and a high chair.

UPSTAIRS:

The property was originally 2 cottages built around 1750 and was converted into one property in the recent past. It has two stairways leading to the two upper floors with the sleeping accommodation and bathrooms.

All the bedrooms are carpeted and the bathrooms have new cushion flooring. All the bedding is brand new ‘hotel quality’ Egyptian cotton, with mattress toppers, mattress & pillow protectors on all the beds.

NB: Please note there is a supplement of £10 per day, per extra guest, over 9. We can accommodate 12 max by utilizing the futon and foldup bed.

OUTSIDE:

Decked terrace

Separated by a pathway to the side of the property is a huge enclosed sunny decked terrace with a barbecue, folding wooden table and 6 folding chairs. (Big wooden picnic table & stools to sit 12 will be provided by Easter 2016). Dine Al Fresco, soak up the sun and enjoy the fabulous sea views over the Mawddach Estuary, Cader Idris range, the beach and the Llyn Peninsula with Bardsey Island in the distance. Don’t miss the amazing sunsets that the West coast has to offer! There is plenty of room for sun loungers which will be provided by Easter 2016

Veranda
Chill out in this seated area or dine Al-Fresco with those amazing coastal views.

With space for bikes & boards, a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Two FREE car park passes are available for guests to use. There is a £200 charge to replace lost cards.

1 bag of logs is provided, FREE of charge, additional bags available at £8 per bag.

Short breaks when available out of the main school holidays: Monday- Friday 4 nights & Friday-Monday 3 nights. Arrivals from 4.00 pm vacate by 10.00 am. A minimum charge of £499 applies to every booking.

Christmas dates 22nd to 29th Dec & New Year 30th December to 5th January
