This is for an entire two room private apartment with a bathroom and kitchen in an historic 1870s house in Uptown New Orleans. This is a very old classic New Orleans house with a private balcony on Washington Avenue, lined with grand oak trees.
This is a two room apartment, each is a large 18 x 18 foot room, with a kitchen off one room and a bath off the other. In the typical New Orleans "shotgun" style, the bath is located at the rear of the apartment and one must walk through the bedroom to get to it. The front room, or the living/dining room, consists of a dining table and chairs, queen size bed and a sleeper sofa. Both rooms have queen size beds with 100% cotton sheets and duvet covers and down pillows and duvets. The kitchen is stocked with basic pots and pans for cooking plus a toaster oven and coffee pot. This is not a high-end luxury accommodation. This is a very old house and can be rough around the edges in some places. Which is to say the place is not fancy but is very pleasant with wood floors and 12 foot high ceiling. The kitchen and bath are “old school," meaning they have not been renovated. The apartment comes with wifi and there is on-street parking. There is a three-night minimum stay for this apartment.
Items provided: Towels, wash cloths, iron and ironing board, coffee pot, toaster oven, and hair dryer. The apartment has wifi but does not have a TV.
This is a great accommodation if you want to stay in a New Orleans neighborhood and meet local people. The house is located 3 blocks off Magazine Street within walking distance to many restaurants, cafes, and bars. The property is centrally located, next to the Garden District, three blocks from the Magazine Street bus which goes to Uptown and directly to the French quarter. It is a 10 minute walk to the St. Charles Streetcar line and the MARDI GRAS PARADE ROUTES. The house is located in the heart of the "Irish Channel," a great funky and culturally diverse New Orleans neighborhood with grocery stores, nightlife, unique shopping boutiques along Magazine Street, and bars and restaurants throughout the area, including Coquette (corner of Washington Ave and Magazine), Community Coffee, Commander's Palace, Sake Café, Joey K's Restaurant and Bar, La Divina Gelateria, The Rum House, and CC's Coffee House. Located a few blocks from Belladonna Day Spa and Parasol's Bar and Restaurant.

The electrical system is old so multiple electrical apliances used at the same time, such as two hairdryers and an iron, can trip the fusebox.
