Magharibi House (Mah gah REE bee) is located a 10 minute walk from beautiful beaches with white sand and crystal blue water in a fishing village with many shops and restaurants and a sea turtle conservation program We have a shady garden and are close enough to the beach and village for you to enjoy the activity and night life there but far enough for you to get away and relax. NO vendors of anything will approach you in our little piece of paradise.
The new building is one story, 2 small steps up to a wide veranda. Have your breakfast served there OR in the communal space of the living/dinner room.

Ahmed, one of the owners, lives on site with his niece and nephews. Juli, the other owner, handles reservations and correspondence and is more often in Tacoma, WA, USA than in Zanzibar these days. Ahmed was born in Zanzibar and Juli has spent around 7 years there. We can help you arrange any excursion you want. We have that local knowledge that makes airbnb special.

No street lighting in the village of Nungwi. Please bring a flashlight (American English) or a torch (The Queen's English). Well, for us Americans, torches are those things the villagers chased Frankenstein with.
- We usually leave our shoes at the door in the main house, but whether you do in your room is up to you.
I am a retired professor and half owner of Magharibi House. I have run it as a bed and breakfast since 2006 but only recently listed it on airbnb.
The other co-owner is the onsite manager, Ahmed. He speaks English very well and is adept at caring for guests. His spelling is not up to par, however, so I handle all of the email communications.
