A romantic guesthouse built in 1793 from local lava stone, typical of the terraced vineyards of Mt. Etna. At 600mt above sea level, a spacious terrace’s overlooking the Ionian Sea and the nearby Italian peninsula while immersed in a surreal, moonlike landscape of petrified magma (the 1928 lava flow that flooded all its way down from the crater to the sea). Today the owners are trying to repopulate the flora with crops of olives, cheery and fruit trees despite the adverse land conditions.
