Hi Steve, Accept cleaning is excessive at £35. It is a service admin fee on each booking as covers the cleaner for the hour, maid service setting up the room, 30 minutes, cleaning of the linen. Further it then covers my 45 minutes to meet and greet, as well as checking my staff have set up the room to a suitable standard. It of course is £1 per day if staying a month and high when staying the day. You were attending a local event and attendance for myself was out of the weekend and you were given. Surprised you felt communications were delayed. Apart from when I was out of the country myself, all responses have had 100% response rate. In your case all were within 12 hours when left late evening. Of communications, apart from the inital request when we delayed by 12 hours to see if others were interested (we usually offer 3 day min), all were responded to the same day. The room offered on 1st floor was done so as it is bigger and nicer than on ground floor.
I will get the curtains cleaned. they are quite new and so not sure why they would be dirty but easily addressed.
Main issue is the charges, but cleaning fee is only way we cover one off admin for the welcome, clean, key drop, linen change. It encourages longer use occupation. As there was an event on, you selected a room which was the lowest on offer in the area so we are aware it is competitive. Overall our occupation rate is approaching 80% so charges are competitive for this area.
Sorry for not making this clear the charge for the one off covers everything, I agree just the end of stay cleaning would be excessive if just covered that.
