My family rented this house for a week for our visit to Malaysia during Chinese New Year celebration. This is a humble house in need of some upgrades, but it served us adequately for our stay. It accommodated up to 12 people overnight and also comfortably hosted about 35 people at times when relatives and friends would visit. The living room and 3 bedrooms upstairs are air conditioned which was appreciated by our New York family visiting Malaysia mid-winter. The kitchen is equipped with basics, including a functional stove and refrigerator. There is also a washing machine. The 2 parking spots in the front porch were much appreciated since there isn't much street parking around the area due to residential density. The neighborhood seemed to be on the safer side (but safety is problematic in Malaysia in general). There are also restaurants and convenience stores just a couple blocks away. Mamak restoran ABC has great food! Elsie, the host, was very accommodating. She was very helpful and responsive through out our communication before our arrival. She even set up WIFI internet per request. There are a few things that were not so great: 1) No cell phone reception. DIGI, Maxis, and Celcom all had poor or no reception in the house. Thankfully I had asked Elsie to set up WIFI for us so at least we could reach family and friends through the internet via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). 2) Downstairs communal bathroom is in need of renovation. The sink is tiny. Also, for the first 2 days the drainage pipe in the sink was leaking until Elsie's husband came over to put in a temporary fix which held for the duration of our stay. The toilet is also old so by mid-week, there was a pungent odor from this bathroom which was not good because the bathroom exited straight into the dining area. 3) No water filter/dispenser. Elsie provided us with a few liters of bottled water at the beginning of our stay but we had to find our own drinking water. 4) The house wasn't very clean upon arrival. The floors and furniture were dusty. We had to wipe down surfaces and mop the floors on our own. The host should prepare the house for the guests. 5) Only 1 set of keys - we had 10-12 people stay at the house through the week. Having only 1 set of keys was troublesome for times when people had different plans. On one night we had to wake someone up in the house at 2am to open the door. 6) Garbage truck didn't come for the whole week and our garbage piled up. We had to take our garbage out to the local dumpster ourselves. 7) Old couch. The couch is old and uncomfortable. Cushions are lumpy. 8) Shower water pressure very low. Taking a shower was a long ordeal. Overall, the house served it purpose in housing and entertaining multiple families but it is time for some upgrades.
