Well I must say we always strive to provide an excellent experience for all our guests and if you note the perfect review history we have it seems that most other guests would concur! We are sorry Anne does not share their views, however, maybe Anne should reconsider her vacation choices in the future an opt for something closer to a resort style accommodation where she can expect full service treatment from a staff ready to provide additional amenities at her request.
I am truly sorry that we did not live up to your expectations Anne, but our offerings are clearly stated on our listing and we attempted to go over and beyond to provide a great experience for you.
Note regarding guest:
Anne was a bit challenging from the start. I struggled with writing a poor review as we tend to prefer the high road and not to post any negative reviews, however, it seems I would be doing other AirBnB hosts a disservice if I do not take a moment to accurately describe Annes stay with us so they too may prepare themselves.
*I will attempt to respond to each of Annes complaints in this review as well as her private feedback below……
1. Anne, you state house was not ready for arrival?
On the contrary, many of our past guests will note that we often allow early check-in ?? A bath mat was left in the dryer freshly cleaned and was not on the floor (my mistake ) upon being notified of this we apologetically advised you it was in dryer freshly cleaned and then made a personal trip to the home within the hour to put it out as well as do a inspection of the sink which you stated was “draining slow”?
Upon arriving and putting down your mats we also addressed the sink issue to see if we needed to perform service and found that the plunger in the sink was simply “cracked open”. Upon properly opening the sink stopper, it drained perfectly!
Additonally, I provided and extra set of towels for your use as a consideration.
2. Anne, you state we could not provide the simple things such as a “coffee refill”….
We provide a traditional “Drip brewer” coffee maker along with a full 24 ounce glass carafe of “freshly ground” organic Columbian coffee. This is ground freshly by yours truly every morning before our guests arrival!
You contacted us stating there the coffee maker was not sufficient for you…….
I an attempt to accommodate you, we were gracious enough to provide you with our personal Keurig coffee maker from our home and we made a special trip to the store to purchase a 12 pack of K cups at a cost of $14 as another attempt to satisfy our guest (you)!
3. Anne, in private feedback you state that we did not provide shower soap for our guests (you).
Upon receiving your request for soap we personally brought over all natural body soap for your use… as a consideration!
NOTE: We do not notate personal hygiene products as an amenity we provide. We do however offer all natural hand soap in bathroom and kitchen as well as dish soap for kitchen needs.
Generally speaking the type of guest an AirBnB attracts are typically renting this accommodation for a different experience than the full/room service style hotel and tend to be more “self-sufficient”. Anne, my suggestion would be for you to consider your vacation options in the future and opt. for a high end hotel rather than an AIRBnB.
Anne, we tried to step up and go above and beyond to accommodate your needs which it seems were fruitless efforts that went mostly unnoticed. We are sorry for your displeasure and honestly went OVER AND BEYOND to try to accommodate you.
Your poor review is not appreciated and is clearly not a view shared by any of our other guests!
*Now that we have responded to some of your issues lets provide you with a little constructive criticism from a Host Standpoint.
*Checkout obligations are notated in your booking and in our guest book.
-You did not strip your bed sheets or gather your towels and linens together at checkout. We simply ask our guests to gather their linens and pile them together on floor prior to leaving.
-All towels were left on bathroom floor and behind toilet..?
-We received complaints from our neighbor across the street that your guest was walking around in her driveway smoking… Additionally our porch décor was used as an ashtray and cigarette butts were left behind and in our herb planters! (I have no problem with smoking outside but please be considerate of my home and don’t loiter in neighbors yards)
In conclusion…. I understand in this business it can be tough to satisfy everyone but we clearly made every attempt to accommodate our your needs and we are disappointed in the “inaccurate and hasty review”!!
