THE BASICS: Beautiful gite in converted barn, with all modern facilities and shared use of a private pool and garden. Peaceful and beautiful setting with easy access to the nearest village and Cahors vineyards.
*** WE CAN OFFER ACCOMODATION FROM MAY TO NOVEMBER ONLY ***
MORE ON WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER: If you are thinking about a holiday in the beautiful Lot department of France, then you might like to consider a stay in the tranquil grounds of our home, the “Mas des Roses”, an old farmhouse (“Mas”) dating from the seventeenth century, set in three hectares of farm and woodland. (URL HIDDEN)
We have two gites: Camelia (Gite 1) and Lavendel (Gite 2). Both have been renovated to a high standard (with well equipped modern kitchens, large living rooms opening onto private terraces, two bedrooms and a modern bathroom each), but retain much of their original rustic character.
The two gites are separate from the main house, set in a large, private, orchard garden with a shared swimming pool.
The garden has plenty of space for sporty types, with bowls, badminton, table-tennis and swimming all possible, or you might just prefer to find yourself a quiet corner and relax in the sun (or shade).
The gites are adjacent to a network of rural pathways where you can walk or cycle without bumping into another soul for hours on end, and only 2 km from our local village, Mauroux (see (URL HIDDEN) for more information). Here you will find a restaurant and bar, local shop (incorporating a boulangerie), library and post office.

GITE LAVENDEL: Lavendel is a comfortable and stylish gite (100 m2). Its main features are:
•An open-plan layout downstairs with a kitchen and lounge area, including a sofa and two rattan chairs, an indoor dining table with four chairs, and a well-equipped kitchen.
•The modern bathroom is also downstairs, comprising a toilet, shower unit and sink.
•Doors from the lounge area open onto a gravelled terrace, with outdoor seating for four, and four sun-loungers for your use.
•The terrace overlooks the orchard garden and is private, in other words, not within sight of the main Mas.
•Upstairs, there are are two good-sized bedrooms (a gallery-bedroom with a double bed; adjoining a second bedroom with a double bed and a single bed).
•Available for your exclusive use in this gite: all the usual things you would expect in a kitchen to be able to cook and eat a meal; plus oven, hob, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, iron, ironing board, towels, tea-towels, Wifi internet and a small BBQ.
•Shared with Gite 1: washing machine (in converted pig-sty next to the gites), drying racks, swimming pool, and sports equipment.
ALL THE THINGS YOU WANT TO KNOW, BUT DON'T ALWAYS GET TOLD: We don't want there to be any unexpected surprises when you come to stay with us, so in this section we try to give you an honest appraisal of what to expect, and whom this gite will suit best. Also, make sure you look at all the photos we have put on the site - as these give a great idea of what we offer. So, here goes:
•Lavendel shares its garden and the swimming pool with Gite 1. Therefore, if you do not want to share these facilities, our gites are probably not for you. Or of course, you can come on holiday with friends, and rent both gites together!
•Lavendel will best suit: a couple; a couple with 2 or three children; two couples, but access to the second bedroom is via bedroom one, so you will need to be good friends!
•Your mobile phone will work at Mas des Roses.
•Yes, there is wifi here.
•There are four sun loungers for each gite - so everyone gets one.
•It is very peaceful here, but there are working farms around, so very occasionally we do get the noise of working machinery.
•You can walk to the village (most of the way on country pathways). It takes 20 minutes each way.
•You will definitely need to have a car to stay here, if you wish to explore the surrounding area. There is no public transport of note

We have just taken over the running of these two beautiful gites from the previous owners, Anne-Marie Van Den Berg and Wim Lemmens. We have a lot to live up to, but are looking forward to welcoming both new and returning guests to this beautiful part of France.
