Camp Owl Pine is a fully outfitted camping experience for adventurers/city dwellers alike. It's a magical spot on one corner of our historic two-acre property on Strawberry Creek. A cool mix of nature + easy access to everything since we're in town. Simply pack a bag & you're ready to commune w/ nature+big trees+stars in our vintage 1955 Trail Chief trailer (cozy bed, hang deck, solar lights, books/games, etc). Unplug & enjoy the mountain air! Die Unterkunft
Camp Owl Pine is a vintage/modern camp adventure, it's a magical mix of nature at our 100 year-old property plus access to the village (you can walk to restaurants/shops). Since we are at the "top of town" you are not in backcountry wilderness, there are neighbors and the property is on a road.

Camp's designed to be a low-key/relaxing/inspiring experience away from the daily hustle and bustle. You can literally pack a bag and visit. Once here you'll enjoy camp vibes in our vintage trailer without having to schlep gear up the mountain.

The typical camping trip? First you'll reserve an asphalt patch at your chosen campground and then you have to find/buy/pack all your gear (cook stove, dishes, pantry items, linens/towels, propane, soap, chairs, lights, games, hammocks, etc.). At the end of that trip, you have to schlep it all back home. Camp Owl Pine saves you all this hassle so you can simply enjoy being outside!

TECH LOVERS: Camp has no WIFI, cell service is spotty and the zone is off-grid, lighting is powered by rechargeable batteries.

Vintage 1955 Trail Chief pop-up trailer:
- Made in Michigan, it’s the only one we have ever found
- Memory foam mattress with wool/cotton topper, fresh sheets, down comforter, 4 pillows plus Pendleton wool blanket and sleeping bag to spread out for added warmth
- Small space heater (to use during non-sleeping hours only)
- Small fan for summer cooling (the trailer can warm during spring/summer days similar to a tent)
- Interesting books, playing cards, Jenga and stationary
- Battery-powered string and interior lights

Hang Deck:
- Teak chairs
- Fire ring & camp stove (+propane)
- Yeti cooler
- Pans/utensils/cutting knife/cutting board/plates
- Olive oil/instant coffee/tea/sugar/salt/pepper/herb seasoning/hot sauce/aluminum foil
- Outdoor string lights and lantern
- Hammocks (2 in the trees next to the deck) + dart board/darts

Bathroom Zone:
- Eco toilet, sink, shower. Remember to pack flip flops for the redwood deck.

The property undeveloped for almost 100 years features an unparalleled landscape:
- Listen to the crunch of leaves as you walk original rock paths down to Strawberry Creek
- Star gaze (Idyllwild is home to AstroCamp)
- Collect pinecones, leaves, forage wild mint, smell the dirt, commune w/ nature
- Spot animals including deer/birds/squirrels/raccoons/coyotes/lizards
- See boulders, pine, oak, cedar, fir, sequoia, wild cherry trees, manzanita, holly, etc.
- Depending on the season, discover wild strawberries, roses, Humboldt lilies, sweet peas, and more in this ever-changing environment

NOTES:
- Camp is located on the same property as our guest cabin - a fun idea for two couples or a family is to rent both camp + the house. You can also read a spotlight on our property's history/camp on Hipcamp's Journal and in the LA Times.
- Full moon calendar (to help plan your trip for moon or star gazing!): Sept. 20 (harvest moon), October 20 (blood moon), Nov. 19 (frost moon), Dec. 18 (cold moon), Winter Solstice Dec. 21...

Idyllwild-Pine Cove, Kalifornien, Vereinigte Staaten

Idyllwild (population 3,870/elevation 5,413') is known for fresh air, mountain vistas and is a hub for hikers along the 2,600 mile Pacific Crest Trail. San Jacinto mountain highlights include world-class rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking.

- Perspective at Idyllwild’s Historical Society Museum
- Explore at The Nature Center
- Hike at Humber Park

The more time we spend camping, hiking and hanging out in nature, the more we believe in the "Leave No Trace" philosophy. It's such a bummer to see trash in places you expect to see leaves, dirt, rocks, etc. Please be thoughtful while exploring the surrounding mountains and hike out your garbage. Here at the property, trash/recycling can be left in the bins and is simply collected by housekeeping upon departure.
