With Cape Town's severe water restrictions, there is a meter installed to measure the water usage per day. The current allowance is 87 litres per person per day. Anything over and above this can result in heavy fines from the City of Cape Town, so please bear this in mind.
**IMPORTANT NOTE**: Cape Town (and South Africa) is in the depths of a severe drought. Please be cautious and conservative with water use. Some small things that each individual can do to help: -Keep Showers as short as possible. -Turn off the taps when not actually using the water (ie while brushing teeth, shaving, soaping up, washing hair or dishes.) -While heating up the water, collect excess in a bucket/bowl and use for cleaning. -Make sure you put a full load into the dishwasher before starting a wash cycle.
