Munggu Enkkudu is a modern Longhouse, built opposite a large Iban Longhouse. On this trip you can enjoy hands-on experience of how longhouses operate today, and the traditions that still survive.
This is not a typical hotel room/house booking, and may include ferry crossings, local food, social and farm activities, and meeting the friendliest people on the planet.
MR350 each will cover food, transport, activities and other reasonable requests, for 2 nights and 3 days. An extra night is MR150.

Die Unterkunft
Rendai grew up in Bratong Longhouse. After becoming the first Longhouse female to attend school (reluctantly), and achieve Cambridge A Levels and a Nursing degree, she worked in Sarawak and overseas. Like every Iban, she stayed in close contact with her family longhouse. Along with her sister and brother, they have built a small longhouse close to the main longhouse. We want to share this with you so that you experience the real Iban world and its traditions.

Zugang für Gäste
Everything in your Longhouse unit, and all Ruai (communal corridors outside every family unit.) The surrounding land is also open to explore.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS TRIP STARTS AND ENDS IN KUCHING.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
There is aircon in the living room and both bedrooms.
There are two showers, both cold water only.
Most outdoor activities start early, to avoid the heat.
Light and cheap clothing is advised. The washing machine can be used free of charge.

Watch and help in the preparation of local dishes. Try rice planting/harvesting, rubber tapping, pepper picking, jungle fruit gathering. See how parangs are made, try the weaving of traditional costume. Learn the bird dance and play the engkrumong. Hunt or see cock fighting if you’re into those activities. Hike as far as you like. Above all, be welcomed by the friendliest people on the planet.

Roger is a much-traveled Englishman, and his wife Rendai is a Dayak. We are retired, so can devote plenty of time to making sure your stay is the best. Fresh air, music, books, conversation and my wife are things that make my life even more enjoyable. Rendai was a nurse, and has a way of making everyone feel at home.
