Karenville is much more than just a place to sleep, it's an experience. It is off the grid with lots of charm, set in the country. Karenville is a group of tiny buildings built by Karen, with an architectural influence of the Victorian years.

Karenville is a unique and glamorous "camping experience" It is very difficult to explain. My guests say we do not have words in the English language to describe what is felt here. I don't know, it's just home to me. The only way to truly understand what Karenville is, is to book and experience the village yourself.
By booking this site, you can sleep in the "hotel" eat in the "cafe" (bring some food to cook) and relax in the "square". The "hotel" (heated in cold weather) has a double bed, a small sink and a little more. It is a bright sunny room that looks out over wide open fields, as well as the "village".
Karenville is more than off the grid, there is no electric at all. I have been living electric free for over 20 years.
Karenville is only 200ft from 9,000 acres of State Forest suitable for many different outdoor activities including hiking the FLT trails or simply enjoying the old growth Forest.
During the school year I have the weekdays blocked out. If you would like a weekday that is connected to and after a weekend contact me. I may be able to unblock the days you wish.

Get yourself free! Free of modern annoyances and conveniences, where the nights are dark and quiet. If that's what you like, or even if you don't, you will love this tiny village that Karen built. Karenville also has an interesting and nice composting outhouse that we are sure you will enjoy. Guests also enjoy Karenville's primitive and unconventional outdoor hot shower. Be prepared for a back to basics adventure. We have NO electric, running water, side walks, or street lights. We also have NO tv, wifi, shopping malls, or other modern facilities. It's hard to believe I have been enjoying all this for over 20 years.
Interaktion mit Gästen
At Karenville it is possible to have as much or as little interaction with Karen, the owner/builder of Karenville as you wish. Only let us know your wishes. However you may have unwanted goat and chicken guests occasionally, but we hope not.

I am a fun and sometimes silly person. But most of all I have a strong connection to the wild things around me. My partner Robert is a plant and insect expert, and also enjoys the same. I especially like the simple things in life. Some of my favorite things to do is, hiking with our two goats, building or painting something, contra dancing, riding my vintage bicycle, showering under the rain spout, cooking over an open fire, having a great adventure, gardening and hanging around home doing the things we do. Things I do not enjoy are sports, shopping, fashion, and watching tv. But sure love my goats, oh yes and Robert too.
I built Karenville for my own enjoyment and pleasure. But then I wasn't sure what to do with all these silly buildings. Someone said I should put it on Airbnb. Without electric or running water I was quite sure no one would come. Wow! was I ever surprised. And now, suddenly, I'm paying County and State taxes.
My future hope for Karenville is that it may amuse and stimulate a new way of thinking and feeling for everyone who visits. And that all who visit K-ville leave with smiles on their faces.
Come experience the magic in Karenville !
