I live in taksim downtown close to everywhere. Most of the universities , historical places, nightlife is only minutes away. Also i have a really relaxed house. Ceiling is almost 5meters high , big windows with good lighting.

Come and see !

Der Wohnraum

Welcome to huge metropolis of middle east friends! Be sure that you ll have a crazy experience in this chaotic-oriental megacity!

First I am a free guide for all of you even if you dont want to rent the rooms :) so ask me anything you wonder.

I rent my 3 rooms in my big house just in the heart of TAKSIM downtown area, the cultural center of Istanbul and home of the famous Gezi protests. Its in the european side. The flat is ideal for exchange students but open for all. Its 5 min away from Istiklal avenue((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) it, its the main street with red tramway). So its close to all historical areas, nightlife and have all kind of transportation to everywhere. (10 min walk to metro , 5 min walk to bus)

Room prices vary between 700-800TL bills included. It varies depending the room and deposit you pay.

The closest uni`s are Mimar Sinan uni, Istanbul uni, Bilgi uni, Istanbul Ticaret uni, Bahcesehir uni, Istanbul technical uni, Halic uni.

If you will study in another uni just tell me which one and i can tell you how to reach with maps so you can get an idea. And other uni s are still easy to reach with transport while living in downtown boosts your istanbul experience as hell!

Flat is big with 3 medium rooms and 1 big room, all fully furnished(bed, closet, desk, wardrobe, lambs) with all facilities you need(hot water, wireless, washing machine, kitchen stuff) So you just move in and start living as your own house from the first day. There is also a living room and 2 balconies. ONLY RULES at the flat is to stay CALM and CLEAN. This is not a flat for dirty erasmus parties. Ofc you can chill at living room, drink or smoke or do whatever you want. You can host your friends time to time WITHOUT disturbing others.

My turkish mate will be living in the flat. I assure you he is a guy that you want as a flatmate. He is working in a media company as coordinator. So you can learn turkish and he can guide you around for cool bars, supercool terrace lounge parties, historical places and which areas to go vacation around turkey, which areas you should avoid, where to go shopping or anything you need! I worked as a DJ and Baris was an organizator in Istanbul for years so you can be sure that you ll have a good network with him ,which you will need in this huge city.

Do not hesitate to ask anything you wonder about the city, flat or anything. I can give you the contact of my flatmate Baris or give you references from my old european (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) which all are females. They can tell you how nice our flat is, the neighborhood or access to anything if you want to be sure about anything.

and welcome to the biggest city of eastern world!

Big room, inexpensive, and handy location (good for getting to spots in Beyoglu). I would recommend it for young travelers as a cheap place to use as a base to drop their stuff while they explore Istanbul. That said, for old fogeys like me past the age of 22, it is more of a hostel-esque experience – it wasn’t really quiet, as I was expecting, with up to 4-5 (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) at a time (hard to tell), various guests, and an occasional person crashing on the couch, the collection of whom could be pretty loud (not in a partying or malicious way, but in an oblivious talking/ laughing at all hours kind of way); the room itself is big, but the apartment as a whole is not, so the common area, especially the living room where people almost always were, are immediate. The bathroom and wee kitchen are, let’s just say, not parts of the apartment where one wants to spend too much time. There’s also a speaker for the call to prayer very nearby – a bit startling, say, on Fridays in the wee hours. :) The wifi was pretty good, though it would go out and need to be reset fairly regularly. The smoking in the apartment was at times super-heavy (smoking is still very common in Istanbul, of course, so it’s not just this place! but the room will be inundated), so it’s definitely not a place for people sensitive to cigarette smoke.
