Thanks Gabby, I'd like to add a few comments because I don't think some of your comments are very fair. Regarding the light ... the apartment faces south east, and it gets lovely morning light. Remember that in Cairns it is often cloudy, so it's not always bright sunlight during the day, regardless of where you are staying. And, in this tropical climate, direct sunlight is not necessarily a good thing!! People here avoid it. That's why Queensland houses have wide balconies and overhanging roofs. It makes everything much cooler and more pleasant. Think tropical rainforest and dappled light. Regarding planes, yes, the flight path passes right over the top of Cairns ... so anywhere you stay in Cairns North or central Cairns has exactly the same issue. My apartment is no better and no worse than any other accommodation. Flights do have a curfew ... there are no flights overnight, so your sleep will not be disturbed. As for nocturnal birds and sometimes noisy neighbours, sorry, again, you will get this anywhere in Cairns. The tropics features lots of wildlife, and lots of that wildlife is nocturnal. Most people don't come to Cairns for a sterile urban experience. Finally, you've given the listing an overall 3-star rating, even though for five of the six things you rated the listing on, your rated it as 4-star or 5-star. Only one item was rated as 3-star. I think a 3-star overall rating is therefore quite unreasonable, and I invite any prospective guests who are reading this to look at all the other reviews as well.
