double bed, claw foot tub bath around the corner.
A large, bright room upstairs in an old, restored, farmhouse on half an acre, that has been turned into rain gardens and a backyard habitat. This is in the Overlook neighborhood of N. Portland, which overlooks Swan Island. You can walk to the river, the Mississippi Arts neighborhood, or explore cool eateries, cafes, pubs, and entertainment close by. Public transportation is convenient, making this a great place to start exploring all Portland has to offer. Car parking is not always available, but I do provide secure bike storage. You are welcome to enjoy the common areas and cooking is encouraged. There is always a project going on in the garden, so feel free to join in, or just kick back and enjoy a green, peaceful refuge in the city. Leela the German Shepard, and Mzcora the cat, live here also, and will welcome you!

The house and premises are tobacco free
This is an Eco house; we compost, reuse, recycle, turn off lights when leaving an area, and try to reduce our carbon footprint.
No eating or drinking in the bedrooms- there is a dining room for this
There are no locks on the bedroom doors; this is an old farmhouse where I live, not a hotel
Bathrooms and kitchen need to be clutter free; you will have your own drawer for toiletries, and cabinet space and place in the fridge for your personal items
Parking is not provided; there is parking on Gay street, and secure bike parking in the garage
Leela the dog can only go out on a leash; please do not leave the door open or she will escape
Mzcora the cat has a cat door to come and go as she pleases.
Regrettably I am not able to host other pets
We are full time students or working, so it's usually a quiet and peaceful refuge after midnight.
FOR LONGTERM GUESTS (1 month or more) :
Housekeeping is not included; all cleaning of the kitchen, bathrooms and common areas is done by those who choose to live here. If for any reason you are not able to leave your room as found, and help maintain the common areas, we can make another plan. This will likely involve you hiring a cleaner, or deciding to live in a place that has maid service.
These are single occupancy rooms; I want your friends ( and mine) to feel welcome- but please check with the host
I'm starting a guesthouse for travelers who come to Portland for blues, brews, bicycling, rain gardens, dogs, coffee roasting, wellness, and community.
