The Everest was a most comfortable place to laze around and truly unplug. Taylor Creek is so peaceful and beautiful and Beaufort is quaint with fantastic restaurants and lovely shopping. I already miss lying on the cushioned top deck with a lovely breeze reading s book. The girls miss swimming off the back of the boat and watching the wild ponies just across the creek on Carrot Island. We will be back

Everything that was discuss prior to our arrival was perfectly executed. The boat was comfportable and in a great location to the village. We traveled to Beaufort on our boat then tied up along side the Everest and it could not have been better. Dan and Kelly were there to help tie up and to give us the boat briefing. There was nothing that we lacked for on board. Everything was available from toiletries to wine. The boat is clean and very comfortable. If you want to experience a yacht moment this is a bargain. Everest is in good shape but not a gold and glitter Palm Beach freakshow. It's a floating lived in home and you will love it if you are looking for comfort. If you want the glitz you can pay 10 times as much per night down South. We went from the boat to Cape lookout for lighthouse looking to Shackelford where we were entertained by the wild horses. Lots of swim time and bags of shells. Beaufort is a lovely town and worthy of time to discover it's charm. Good food and everything you need within easy walking. Can't say enough about Dan and Kelly, once you meet them you you'll have new friends. We'll go back just to hang out with them!

Staying aboard the M/Y Everest was absolutely wonderful! Just as all others have posted, Dan and Kelly went above and beyond any expectations we may have had to make our stay enjoyable. The only disappointing aspect of our trip was the weather, which unfortunately, no one has control of. The weather was great on Thurs. evening when we arrived and after we were given the grand tour of the yacht, we enjoyed a delicious meal at a near-by restaurant Kelly recommended. However, when Fri. came, so did the pouring rain, along with thunder and lightning. When Dan and Kelly stopped by, Kelly asked what our plans were for the day. Had it been sunny, we were planning to take the kayaks out to Carrot Island for a picnic or go sightseeing in the area but since that was not possible, we were content to sit and watch the rain. After all, what better place is there to be than a yacht if you happen to be held hostage by a storm? By late Fri. afternoon, the rains stopped so, we strolled into town for a while to check out all of the shops. When we returned, our children went out on the kayaks for a few hours and then Kelly and Dan joined us for a "pizza on the grill" dinner. Unfortunately, we woke up to more rain Sat. morning which again ruined our plans. I had stated, "the only disappointing aspect of our trip was the weather" when actually, there was another disappointment; on Sat., our vacation was over and we had to leave. Despite the weather, we still had a wonderful time. I'm sure it would have been so much better had the weather cooperated but Dan and Kelly could not have done more to make our vacation special. We definitely want to go back! Thank you Dan and Kelly for everything!!!

A unique and special experience! Dan and Kelly’s exceptional attention to our interests made our vacation a delight. Since we’re an active family of five adults: three in their 20’s and two… somewhat older, Dan and Kelly went “above and beyond” to make our vacation special when they supplied plenty of “toys” on top of the many thoughtful preparations they already make for their guests. First of all, the yacht is stunning; what an experience to watch the sunset while sipping a glass of wine and lounging on the bow, perched topside or relaxing on the stern. Saturday night a “blood moon” rose slowly over the town – WOW. Then, to our amazement, hundreds of fish showed up, apparently attracted to the blue lights under the bow – it was a feeding frenzy! (Note to self, next time, grab the fishing pole!) Our final evening on board, we grilled kabobs on the top deck – delicious! Dan and Kelly joined us for dinner, and their presence made the conversation lively. Dan shared stories of his climbs on Mt. Everest and Denali and the five years he spent sailing around the world; then Kelly shared the crazy way they met and the adventure of figuring out how to turn a yacht into a bed and breakfast venue. It was so beautiful and relaxing there, we wish we could have stayed in that moment forever! Every detail for a wonderful vacation was covered – from the fresh ice each day to fully equipped galley to the lovely pillows in every seating area, to the piped in music to the extra little fridge topside filled with an assortment of nice things to drink. And with four staterooms, each with its own head, The M/Y Everest provided luxury accommodations for our group to enjoy a “once in a lifetime adventure” at less than it would have cost to house our group in basic no-frills hotel rooms. A perfect venue. The day times were for action! The first morning we took the ferry from Harker’s Island toward Shackleford Banks so we could climb the lighthouse (all 207 steps!) on the Cape Lookout National Seashore. The breathtaking view was worth every step! On the return ferry trip, we spotted a pod of dolphins and several wild horses - remarkable! Back on shore we headed to a local restaurant where we munched soft shell crab sandwiches. The crispy/spongy “clearly crab shaped” sandwich filling was a new experience for several of us. In the morning we rode the bicycles in search of an early morning latte then enjoyed the coffee and a pastry while walking along the dock. We admired the sailboats docked there, grinned at the antics of the shore birds and took pictures of a couple of wild horses grazing on Carrot Island. Later, we hopped into Dan and Kelly’s motorized rubber dingy and leisurely explored Taylor's Creek and the Carrot Island shoreline, even piloting the dingy all the way around the island that houses the...

We had the most amazing time while staying on Dan and Kelly's Yacht! From the moment we arrived to the moment of departure Dan and Kelly were phenomenal hosts. We had planned to make crockpot meals most of the weekend to save time, but forgot the crockpot! Kelly was quick to the rescue and brought her crockpot to the Yacht to let us use! Dan stocked the refrigerator with craft beers after we mentioned we enjoy craft beer, Kelly brought cupcakes and mimosas to help celebrate a birthday of someone in our group, and they even took us out on the water for awhile on our last day! We couldn't have asked for better hosts! Dan and Kelly are amazing and the Yacht is perfect. We took the kayaks out one morning to the island nearby, and a few of us had fishing licenses and fished off of the back of the boat. You can take a short trip into town for bait to fish with or any last minute grocery items you may need. At night there is a light around the back of the boat in the water and you can see a lot of fish swimming around. The Yacht has so much space it was hard to decide where to spend our time. The sound system can connect to your iPhone and there are speakers pretty much everywhere on the boat for you to listen to music. The bedrooms are great and it is wonderful each having your own bathroom. We really couldn't have asked for anything more during our stay, but if we would have asked for anything more, I have no doubt Dan and Kelly would have found a way to provide it for us. We definitely plan to come back and stay again!

Hello and thank you for taking the time to consider staying aboard the 80' San Lorenzo Motor Yacht, Everest. Dan and Kelly are happy to host you while you stay with us in of the many areas that we charter. In the summer of 2017, you will find us in Bermuda for the 2017 America's Cup. Later in the summer you will find us back in our home port of Beaufort, NC, and then headed south for the winter. So, this Airbnb may have several listings as we do tend to move about and you are welcome on aboard any of our adventures!

About the crew: Dan is an avid seaman that has sailed around the world, solo, on a 32' Pearson Vanguard. After spending so much time on the water, Dan decided to spend some time on land climbing mountains. Motor Yacht Everest is named after his 2004 summit atop Mount Everest. Dan's love of boats, the water, traveling, and putting a smile on someone's face is what has encouraged him to share M/Y Everest with you.

Kelly shares many of the same passions as Dan and enjoys seeing people enjoy themselves as well. She currently teaches Chemistry at a community college and enjoys hosting and traveling over her summer vacation.
