*** Important: Please click 'more...' to see the entire description. This listing is ONLY for groups of 5 or more booking all 3 listings in my loft. Groups of 4 or less should book the individual listings instead. Scroll down under "Other Things to Note" to see comparison summary and links for all 3 spaces, and exceptions for groups of 5. ***
--- Located in one of the world's largest art colonies in a building over 100 years old, with huge skylight, vaulted wood ceiling & antique brick face.
--- Private outdoor patio has shade, bbq grill & vibrant garden.
--- great central LA location: close to Union Station/downtown LA & easy fwy access.
--- Parking is plentiful and adjacent, and the entire complex is patrolled 24/7 by our own security team.
The loft has 3 distinct listings: the Sweet Suite, the Treehouse, and the Gazebo Nook. Detailed description of the 3 individual spaces:
The SWEET SUITE occupies most of the loft's mezzanine, and includes two 10 ft x 12 ft rooms. The private bedroom has double french doors, a comfortable queen mattress on a platform bed, as well as a small desk, closet, and dressing area. The adjacent lounge area of the suite has a full size futon bed (which can also be used as a couch), as well as multiple chairs and small tables for laptop use or hanging out. The lounge is open to the rest of the loft, with a lovely view off the balcony.
The TREEHOUSE is a small lofted room, lifted on 8 foot stilts in the open, high ceiling area at the front of the loft. It has walls for basic privacy and a very comfortable full size bed. It's a cozy space for solo travelers and adventure couples without a lot of baggage.
The GAZEBO NOOK has recently moved from the open area in the middle of the common space as pictured, to it's own little curtained nook under the Treehouse room at the front of the loft. So the pictures aren't accurate, but the improvements in privacy and personal space are obvious if you look at the pics showing the Treehouse and the area underneath it. The space has a comfortable twin bed, some shelves, and a little privacy with added curtains and a screen.

Interaktion mit Gästen
IMPORTANT: I do live in a private area of the loft, work from home and am often around quite a bit. I listed the booking as "entire loft" and not "private room" because it's the only way I could list the details of 4 individual sleeping areas, but I don't want you to think I won't be staying here too. You will just be the only guests here. I sometimes use the downstairs common areas for work and projects, though I'll always discuss such use to insure I can keep these activities from interfering with your stay.
All stays include "Arrival Concierge": I'll help you figure out how to get here from the airport (or however you're arriving), and spend an hour or so with you on your 1st day, to answer questions and orient you to the neighborhood & city at large.
I enjoy conversing with guests: sharing my extensive knowledge of LA, trading stories & ideas, and getting to know each other. I also have a good sense of when guests need less interaction, and make myself scarce when necessary.
I'm often available as tour guide in my 2006 Infinity for $15/hour plus gas. Or you might be able to convince me to take you on some adventure for just cost of gas, if I've got the free time and it sounds like fun! I frequently invite guests when i go to parties, shows, underground bars, art openings and the like.
I'm also generally available to serve brunch by request. Items range from $4 to $10 and must be ordered the day before. If you're interested, let me know and I'll send you a menu.

LISTING COMPARISON SUMMARY:
The 3 distinct airbnb spaces available in my 1400 sq ft loft can be rented individually or in combination to accommodate from 1 to 8 guests, with varying levels of comfort & private space.
--- Use this page ONLY if you wish to book ALL 3 spaces as a single reservation for 5 people or more.
--- Smaller groups should book the Suite Sweet by itself here:
--- Individual travelers can also opt for one of the 2 budget-friendly rooms:
Gazebo Nook: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/726249
Groups of 6-8 are required to book all 3 spaces; for groups of 5 see EXCEPTIONS below.
Here's a summary of the spaces:
** SWEET SUITE: 2 beds; sleeps 4. Largest & most private space. Has 2 separate rooms: inner private bedroom w/ 1 queen bed, outer semi-private lounge w/ 1 full (double) futon bed. Plenty of hang out space. Adjacent to kitchen/dining.
** TREEHOUSE: 1 bed; Sleeps 2 comfortably but in close quarters. Small lofted room w/ walls & door but no ceiling, only large enough for it's full-size (double) bed. Perfect for the single adventurer or couple.
** GAZEBO NOOK: 1 bed; sleeps 1. Generally only rented in combination w/ the Suite and/or Treehouse. Limited personal space and curtains for privacy. Bed is a wood framed twin (single) bed in the corner of the loft under the Treehouse: 2 walls, 2 curtains and a privacy screen.
** EXCEPTIONS for GROUPS OF 5:
--- Groups of 5 have the option of booking just the Suite + Treehouse or just Suite + Gazebo Nook. Please inquire for exact pricing.
--- It's not recommended to fit more than 4 in the suite tho on occasion I do allow groups of 5; usually only when other listings are booked, or for student groups. The suite accommodates 4 comfortably and 5 only if you stack exceptionally well. We can add a foam bed for additional sleeping, but it does make the suite quite crowded.
--- If you take any of these options, please be aware that there may be other travelers sharing the loft if you don't book all 3 listings. Given the open layout of the loft, this may give it sense of communal living [depending on the guests]. If you rent all 3 spaces, you'll have much more flexibility in your use of the space, as there won't be other guests to take into consideration.
If your group of 5 would like to take any of these options, send a booking inquiry for the Sweet Suite, here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/573701.

I'm an artist, entrepreneur & teacher. I've lived here 9 years & am very knowledgeable about LA, especially regarding underground & off-the-beaten-path adventures. I'm from New York, went to college in Indiana for a degree in theatre, then to Arizona for my MFA in Intermedia. I've taught college courses and presented performances, lectures & workshops across the US & Europe. More recently I became involved in costume design & wearable technology; now I run a small fashion company making "upcycled" clothing & fashion accessories. I'm a geek of many stripes & clown on occasion. I love to cook & I'm a master of hot sammiches, with 2 trophies from the 3rd 2nd Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational to prove it (seriously, i'm not making that up!). In addition to art, fashion & food, I also love gardening, yoga, music & good conversation.
I'm well connected to a number of art & culture scenes around LA, and happily share my knowledge and contacts. Let me know what you need or want to do here, in our space, arts community, or LA at large, and I'll help you figure out how to make it happen. If you're an artist, love the arts, or are just curious about what artists do and how they live, this is a place that will welcome you with a unique creative energy that you're unlikely to find anywhere else.
