Fox Cottage is a little gem. Recently beautifully refurbished, the 18th century thatched building is ideal for a relaxing break or for a longer stay. The Farm has rare-breed pigs, sheep, goats and chickens as well as heritage cider orchards and a 17th C. Cider House. It’s a short walk over the fields to the Teign estuary or a slightly longer one to Shaldon to visit the pub. Sample the meat produced on the Farm and collect your own eggs. Check out Tucketts Farm on Facebook for the latest news.

Die Unterkunft
The cottage is suitable for two people. Babies in travel cots or Moses baskets are welcome. During the Summer a further two beds (2 small doubles) can be provided in the Arts and Crafts stables next door for an extra charge. Guests will have the run of the farm (apart from the areas to be avoided which are listed in the welcome pack) and can explore the orchards, fields and meadows.

The farm, which covers around 73 acres of gardens, cider orchards, pastures, woodland and marshland going down to the Teign estuary, is 17 miles from Exeter. The estuary has a variety of bird life including herons, cormorants and egrets. There are also cirl buntings in the farm’s hedgerows.

The 18th century cottage is one of a group of grade II* listed buildings constructed from the 17th to 20th century (see aerial photo) and was the original farmhouse. The thatched cider press and the barrel store date back to the 17th century. We are currently producing small batch cider, ciderkin and perry using modern techniques.

The cottage’s kitchen is modern and extremely well-equipped. There is a wet room with shower and a shared laundry and freezer in the stables next door.

The cottage has a private outside seating area with a gas barbecue. You can sample freshly-laid eggs during your stay.

As Tucketts is a working farm it is important to close gates behind you.
