Hi Justin. Thank you for your very thorough review. Lots of valid points raised there. We are looking to redo the front garden, but this isn’t something we are advertising as part of the listing at the moment. Please note that there is a handrail available on the back side of the steps. The shared entrance is unfortunately not just our responsibility but we are striving to update everything.
We will definitely look to get a couple more chairs for the dining table and as a relatively new listing the furniture is constantly being updated and improved on.
I apologise if you felt hassled by me. I did send one message on the day of check in to make sure you had got in with no problems. Guests are normally appreciative of good communication, especially if I am unable to meet them on the day.
Regarding the cleaning fee, I feel that this is a bit of a naive view of the amount of work involved in preparing a whole flat and ensuring that it is clean for each guest. In this situation it involved washing, drying, ironing and changing 4 beds worth of linen, plus towels for 5 people, as well a 2 hour professional clean before the next guests including all 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. I appreciate you feel that you didn’t make much mess/rubbish yourselves, but our service remains the same for every group regardless of the amount of mess they create or the length of their stay. Sometimes there is a huge amount of mess/rubbish. A professional clean and laundry service was completed to get the property ready and clean for your arrival.
Unfortunately the Airbnb service fees are out of our control. We do charge more on the weekend than in the week but this is all clearly labelled on our listing.
