I am a lifelong resident of the old Fire Mountain neighborhood within Oceanside. Up until 1965, our property was a part of North Carlsbad. We have had five generations on this two-acre lot over the last 60 years, which is known as the "family compound". My mother lives next door in the home where my sister and I grew up.
I have enjoyed many occupations over the years. My last career was with the San Diego Reader as a Senior Advertising Sales Rep. These days I enjoy gardening, family, and friends.
My husband, Jim, has just retired after over 50 years in Nuclear Medicine.
Although we like to travel to see family, friends, and new places, we enjoy being at home, working in our gardens and playing with our young grandchildren.
We love our home and the area in which we live. We have a quiet and very private bungalow which we are wanting to share with you! We enjoy our guests, meeting new people, and both agree that renting to vacationers/travelers is a fun and fulfilling hobby for us.
Our home is close to freeways (Interstates 5 and 78) and only 5 minutes to the beach. We are 40 minutes from San Diego and an hour from Los Angeles. Our famous wine country, Temecula, is only 40 minutes away.
We are so looking forward to meeting you. Jim and I will give you all the privacy you want. You may like to join us some evening on our outdoor patio by the fire for wine and conversation!
We travel mostly to San Francisco and Oregon to see our children and friends. We love the Pacific Northwest but also New York and Arizona. We have been to New Orleans during JazzFest. We've even been to the jungles of Panama, visiting our daughter and son-in-law when they were in the Peace Corps.
In 2016 we toured China with friends which included climbing the Great Wall, cruising the Yangtze River, and so much more. It was truly an experience of a lifetime.
This summer will be our first trip to Alaska.
