Vicopisano is a little gem tucked between - Pisa/Lucca/Pontedera/Calci/Buti/San Gimignano/Volterra and many other places but within easy reach of them all, even Florence is close enough by car or train. This little Hamlet has some great features as built by Fillipo Brunelleschi - La Rocca ! Have you seen the dome on the cathedral of Florence - Brunelleschi's work .
Thermal springs are nearby at San Giuliano or Casciana Terme . The Piaggio factory - home of the Vespa scooter is 10 minutes by bus from Vicopisano, where you can visit the free museum dedicated to the Vespa and other creations by Piaggio.
Take the train from Pontedera (10 min from Vicopisano) to the famous Cinque Terre -5 lands- and explore these little fishing villages clinging to the mountain sides.
In Vciopisano you mix with the locals not 100's of tourists and you are still within stones throw of all the major attractions.

Mooie typische Toscaanse omgeving. In een rustig idyllisch stadje. Enige opmerking die ik kan maken is dat je voor deze lokatie wel goed ter been moet zijn.

Beautiful house, big bedrooms, very cozy!!! It was very nice of Jonathon to have some food, fruits and wine as a welcome gift! The comunication with him was very good from the beginning, he answered all the e-mails in no time. The neighborhood is lovely, nice restaurants, good pizza places and gelato. He also lend us some bikes. Easy to get to Florence from there, good transportatio. One of the best memories of our trip was staying at their place. Thank-you Jonathon and Massimo for making our stay unforgettable!!!!

I can't say enough amazing things about Jonathan, the house, and Vicopisano. Jonathan was so accommodating. The house is immaculate and everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable is provided. We were a group of seven and we slept very comfortably in the house. Since we had children with us, the garden was perfect for them to run around, and Vicopisano is great for walking as well. There is a small grocery store and butcher in town where you can buy food to cook, and Eno Sophia is a MUST! They have €1 wine all day and delicious platters. You can also purchase wine from them for as little as €2 a litre. In terms of transportation, I was a little worried at first, but the transit system is quick and reliable. From Vicopisano, it's about 40 minutes to Pisa on the bus, and you can also reach Florence via train easily from Pontedera, which is 20 minutes away. The bus is about €3.50 round trip. Best of all, Vicopisano has a great community feel, and amazing scenery. The mountains surrounding the town make for a great hike, which we took, and the people are warm and friendly. There's also a tower which you can take a tour of during the day. There aren't many English speakers, but there are enough to get by, and I was able to communicate pretty well with my one semester of Italian at Uni and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Translate :) Everyone made an effort to make us feel welcome there, and I would definitely go back again.

Hi I'm an Australian who has lived in Tuscany for about 13 years, my partner and I OFFER - Casa al Castello as a unique holiday rental and we also hav(no.1 on TripAdvisor - lenzis) in a sweet little village called Vicopisano.
I work with the cruise lines taking tourists around Tuscany and Italy on guided tours.
My reason for living in Italy is I love good genuine food, delicious wines and I adore the art, culture and life style of Tuscany.
I graduated from University as a Manager in Tourism and Hospitality and enjoy looking after peoples needs when planning and taking holidays.

Here is a recent review from some guests on Trip Advisor-

My husband and I and another couple stayed at the b&b for six nights and we have nothing but good things to say about it. It is impeccably maintained and clean and wonderfully located for touring the area.

But perhaps its biggest asset is co-owner Jon Hunter. He works as a tour guide in the area and enthusiastically shares his vast knowledge of the area with the b&b's guests. Somehow, he always managed to appear when we were making our plans for the day and would provide many tips and other information to make our day's sojourn enjoyable. And he did so with great humor. He even provided us with a bottle of wine upon our arrival. (Who could ask for more?) You couldn't ask for a better host.

We would love to spend more time in the wine bar in Vicopisano, we forget the name, but we're sure Jon would provide it, where congenial Giovanni delighted us with his knowledge of wine and food. A delightful experience.

Needless to say, if life ever finds us back in Tuscany, we will be staying at Lenzi's and recommend it highly for anyone considering it.
