Looking for a haven in the heart of Lisbon? Want to be at the center in a charming typical old Lisbon street, near the main attractions the best restaurants and the most famous nightlife? The pretty “Soriano” 3 bedroom apartment has it all!

Things to notice:
- Photos may make the apartment look larger
- Narrow steep stairs, not suited for guests with mobility problems
- Old building, possible to hear neighbors upstairs

Experience living like a local on a typical Lisbon street in this charming and comfortable 3 bedroom apartment. You will love your stay in one of Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhoods, with everything you might want within walking distance.
Traditional but with all the modern amenities on the inside, the “Soriano” apartment is a typical old Lisbon apartment house in the 3rd floor of a central residential street.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room comfortable and airy. The balcony offers a view over the Luz Soriano Street where you can watch the movement of old central Lisbon. The bathroom is spacious and bathed in natural light. All 3 bedrooms have comfortable beds. The windows facing the street soak in the afternoon sunlight and have double glazing to make sure your rest won’t be disturbed.

The apartment may appear larger than reality in the photos because of the wide lens used. Please check the floorplan in the photos!

The apartment is all to yourselves and well equipped for a comfortable stay. Fresh towels and bed sheets are available for all guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric vitro-ceramic stove, a microwave, basic cooking supplies, toaster and coffee maker, a Nespresso machine, kitchenware, clothes-washer, iron and ironing board.
You’ll have access to cable TV with international channels, books, board games, radio, CD and mp3 player and internet with Wi-Fi.
There is no air conditioning but electric heaters and fans are provided.
As for sleeping arrangements, there is one master bedroom with a double bed and two bedrooms with 3 individual beds in total. The living room has a sofa-bed with another 2 individual beds.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
- Clean towels, linens and sheets are provided. There is no daily cleaning service or replacement of towels. You can ask for any number of house cleanings and towel / linen replacement for an extra fee.
- This is a self-catering rental. This means that we will leave you a starting amount of certain items like toilet paper or detergent but when it runs out you should get more yourself.
- Apartments in old buildings don't have a lot of electric power available unless the building has been renovated very recently. If you turn on many heaters full power at the same time, or high power electrical equipment (like washing machine, hair dryer, toaster, water boiler, etc.) the safety electrical switches can go off. This is normal.

BOOKING
- Please keep in mind that the booking is only finalized once the reservation has been made. While you're asking questions about the apartment other guests might book it.

CHECK-IN TIME
- We are very flexible and will try to accommodate to your arrival time. You can usually arrive at any time from 11h30 am to drop off your luggage and get the keys. In this case please note that the house may not be clean and ready until mid-afternoon and you should not stay in the property while it's being cleaned.
- The only way to be sure and have the apartment ready on an early morning arrival is to book the previous night.
- For arrivals after 20h00 there is a "late check-in" fee of 10€ to pay in cash on arrival.
- For arrivals after 23h00 there is a "late check-in" fee of 20€ to pay in cash on arrival.
- For arrivals after 1h00 am there is a "late check-in" fee of 40€ to pay in cash on arrival. However, please note that it may not always be possible to do a check-in after 1h00 am. If you arrive later than this we may only be able to meet you the next morning after 10h00 am, so please check with us in advance.

CHECK-OUT TIME
- You should have everything packed and be ready to leave the apartment at 11h00, or at the latest when the cleaners arrive. You can't stay after 11h00, but sometimes it may be possible to leave your luggage in the house until later.

ACCESSIBILITY
- The apartment is located in an old traditional area of central Lisbon, where most buildings are old and don't have elevators. It's on the third floor and the stairs are narrow and steep. Old persons live here and use them everyday, but could be an issue for persons with a mobility problem.

OUTSIDE NOISE
Most guests have no problem at all with noise. However you should note the following.
- The sound insulation in these ancient buildings is very poor compared to modern constructions. It's possible to hear sounds from neighbors, specially upstairs neighbors.
- This is not a very loud street and there's not much traffic, but it's near a lively area, many people pass on the street.
- There are good sound insulating windows so when you close them it's quiet inside. But you can hear people and sounds from the street when you open the windows. Sometimes it may be a bit noisy outside, specially on weekends.
- During the week of June 12th it's the Saint Anthony Festivities in Lisbon. Every area in the historic center will be much livelier than usual and this one of the areas that can get noisier until late at night, specially on June 12th.

OWNER ACCESS
- On rare occasions, authorized persons may need to access the property for maintenance services or other necessary tasks (owner, caretaker, cleaners, repairmen, etc.). We will try to avoid this and to warn you in advance.

VERY IMPORTANT - GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD
You are staying at this apartment on condition of being a respectful and considerate neighbor.
- This is a residential building and the neighbors demand tranquility inside. Remember that the sound insulation in these ancient buildings is very poor compared to modern constructions. Please avoid loud noises at all times and don't make noise in the building (stairway, apartment, patio, balconies, windows) from 10pm to 9am.
- Specially during this "quiet time" period please close all doors gently including the street door, be careful about not shouting or laughing loudly, running and jumping, having loud TV or music, dragging furniture, etc. This building has wooden floors so you should please take off your shoes at night to avoid disturbing the neighbors that live below.
- Never ring the neighbor's doorbells.
- Parties are strictly forbidden.
- You can't have more persons in the apartment then the number of guests in the reservation, except with written permission from us.
- If you dirty a common area of the building please clean it immediately, don't leave it for the neighbors to clean.
- Disrespectful behavior and disturbing the neighbor's tranquility are considered very serious offenses in this community and are not tolerated. If there are complaints, depending on the severity of what happens you may be fined or you may even be asked to leave the apartment immediately (and will not be refunded).
- Of course this is not to make you worry about normal living noise or an innocent accident. It's only about disrespectful behavior which unfortunately has happened on occasion in the past, so now I have to make it very explicit.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
For your own safety and the security of your belongings:
- Please always close the street door when you enter or leave the building.
- Never carry the apartment keys together with the address. This way if you lose them no strangers will be able to enter the house.
- It's good that you carry my phone number in your wallet and luggage. If you lose them and someone finds them, they will be able to contact me.

TRASH
- Put out the trash outside, in a closed plastic bag, in the evening after 20h00 (except Sundays). There are garbage containers on the streets near the apartment. The garbage is collected during the night.

ELECTRICITY
- Help save electricity! Turn off heaters, TV, lights and other electrical equipment when you are out of the house.

HEATING
- Please live like a local - don't overheat the house and turn off the heaters when you are out!
- Houses in Lisbon don't usually have central heating so we have to use electrical or gas heaters. Most old house are not very well insulated. It's not normal for us to heat our homes very much, unlike many other more northern countries, as the houses are not prepared for it and gas and electricity are very expensive. For us it's very strange to be in a t-shirt and shorts in the house in winter. We wear warmer clothes and just heat the house enough to be comfortable!

HOUSE AND EQUIPMENT
- This is a no-smoking apartment. If you really need to smoke please do it at the balcony.
- Please don't take towels or any other items outside of the house.
- Please inform of any damage that you may have caused, we will work it out.

CHECK-IN
- Although official check-in time is from 15h00, you can usually arrive at any time from 11h30 am to drop off your luggage and get the keys. In this case please note that the house may not be clean and ready until mid-afternoon and you should not stay in the property while it's being cleaned.
- Please inform us your arrival time as soon as possible after you book the apartment. If we don't know your expected arrival time at the very least 24 hours in advance we can't guarantee to be available when you arrive. We are usually very punctual, but sometimes it may be impossible to be there at your exact arrival time or a delay will happen for some reason. If that happens please don't worry, it won't be long and thank you in advance for your patience!
- For arrivals after 20h00 there is a "late check-in" fee of 10€ to pay in cash on arrival.
- For arrivals after 23h00 there is a "late check-in" fee of 20€ to pay in cash on arrival.
- For arrivals after 1h00 am there is a "late check-in" fee of 40€ to pay in cash on arrival. However, please note that it may not always be possible to do a check-in after 1h00 am. If you arrive later than this we may only be able to meet you the next morning after 10h00 am.

CHECK-OUT
- You should have everything packed and be ready to leave the apartment at 11h00.
- Leave all the keys on the living room table. Missing keys cost 20 euros.
- The rental price includes a final cleaning which assumes that you leave the apartment in a reasonable state. Trash is to be collected in plastic bags, dishes and all kitchen equipment are to be left washed and put back in the cabinets or at least in the dishwasher, items of furniture are to be put back in their original places and TV remotes by the TV. If you prefer to leave the dirty dishes and kitchen equipment we can also take care of it for an extra charge of 20 euros.
You can't stay after 11h00, but sometimes it may be possible to leave your luggage in the house until later. If you want, please ask 1 day in advance to know if it's possible. If not, there are lots of places in Lisbon where you can store luggage a few hours. You can keep your things until later only under the following conditions:
- You should receive written confirmation from us.
- Leave your belongings all packed near the door.
- Take only 1 set of keys with you, leave the others in the house.
- Please be respectful of the cleaners and the following guests. When you come back for your luggage at the agreed time, just pick up your luggage and leave the keys inside. You can’t rest there or use anything including the bathroom!

Wir haben zu fünft eine Nacht in Luis Apartment verbracht und unseren Aufentahlt sehr genossen. Im Vorfeld wurden wir schon über die Anreisemöglichkeiten informiert und die Schlüsselübergabe vereinbart. Das Apartment ist sehr schön, sauber und gut ausgestattet. Es liegt sehr zentral umgeben von vielen Bars und Restaurants.

Hallo, wir sind 3 Frauen (55-61 Jahre) und haben vom 5. bis 12. Oktober 2015 in dieser Wohnung gewohnt. Die Wohnung ist so, wie beschrieben. Auf den Fotos wirkt sie größer, doch dass sie kleiner ist, macht sie nur noch gemütlicher. Da ich früher mal, Anfang der 80er mehrere Jahre, in Lissabon im Bairro Alto in der Nähe dieser Wohnung gelebt habe, war es für mich wie ein "Wieder-Nachhause-Kommen." Diejenigen von euch, die mal in einem typischen Altstadtviertel, in einer typischen Altstadtwohnung - wie die "Lissabonner" - leben möchte, die sind in dieser Wohnung genau richtig! Bei solchen Wohnungen knarren die Dielen, es gibt dicke hölzerne Fensterläden von innen und man hört die Schritte der Nachbarn über der Wohnung und im Treppenhaus. Ich wollte das und mag das. Obwohl man mitten im Viertel lebt, in dem es ein ausgeprägtes Nachtleben gibt, ist diese Straße recht ruhig. Direkt in der Nähe, keine 5 Minuten entfernt, liegt der wunderschöne Aussichtspunkt St. Catarina - mit einem sehr zu empfehlenden Restaurant mit Aussichtsterrassen! Um die Ecke sind direkt ein Bäcker, ein Minimarket und viele andere Geschäfte und "tascas" (Restaurants und Kneipen). Auch die berühmte Straßenbahnlinie 28 ist nur ein paar Schritte entfernt. Nur wenige Meter weiter liegt das berühmte "Cafe Brasileira", wo Künstler und Literaten ein- und ausgingen und -gehen, unter ihnen Fernando Pessoa. Möchte man das traditionelle "echte" Lissabon kennenlernen, dann ist diese Wohnung der ideale Ausgangspunkt! Für Lissabon-Liebhaber/innen und die, die es werden wollen! Wir hatten eine gute Zeit dort und wünschen dies auch allen Besucher/innen nach uns!

Luis war sehr nett, hat auf uns gewartet und uns alles erklärt. Wir können seine Wohnung nur empfehlen. Super Lage, um um Bairro Alto feiern zu gehen. Super!

Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit - man konnte ihn jederzeit anrufen, auch um die Fragen die nix mit der Wohnung zu tun haben zu stellen. Die Wohnung ist wie oben beschrieben: liegt in einer sehr guten Gegend: viele Cafes/Bars+Supermärkte+Verkehrsmitteln in der Nähe. Man konnte nett und günstig in einem Cafe in der Nähe (5 Min von der Wohnung) frühstücken, auch abends gut ausgehen (auch 5 Minuten von der Wohnung) oder bis 24 Uhr im Supermarkt sich was holen. Die Wohnung ist in einer Altbau - sehr authentisch :) Der einzige Nachteil ist dass es hellhörig ist. Bemerkenswert ist auch, wie liebevoll alles in der Wohnung gemacht ist und wie liebevoll der Gastgeber sich um alles kümmert. Ist auf jeden Fall eine sehr schöne Erfahrung!

Although we just spent a single night at Louis' place, we absolutely loved. It's difficult to get there by car but once you arrived the location is the perfect base to explore the city's day and night life. Louis replied to questions very quick and welcomed friendly at arrival. We'll come back next time we are in Lisbon again. Thanks!

The flat is in a central location in Bairro Alto, where all the bars are located. It is a nice, well-equipped flat. However, we found a lot of insects, specially in the bathroom and the kitchen.
