hello, I am Odile, from Brittany (France) I am leaving in Connemara for the last 39 years. Kermor is a big house, very comfortable, plenty place for every body. Just beside the sea, perfect for hiking, cycling, fishing etc... and also swimming
Kermor is not a sophisticated house but everytime in the house is coming from the heart, so respect the home like you do yours.
Many thanks for asking.
Hope to talk to you

Odile and Jean have a lovely home that we have enjoyed staying in this past week. Each bedroom has a theme and the appointments reflect it throughout. We had more than enough space and were quite comfortable! The area was perfect for us to enjoy lots of hiking in Connemara, the striking Sky Road, and Omey Island. Definitely worth the time in the area--we would love to gave had so much more here! Thank you for a lovely holiday!!

Odile was a perfect host. She introduced us to the property on arrival and, though living nearby, left us to enjoy our privacy until she bid us farewell on our departure. She was also extraordinarily generous, leaving a welcoming fruit bowl and a bottle of wine. The fridge was well stocked including the ingredients for a full Irish 'fry up' for breakfast next day. Other essentials such as tea, coffee, breakfast cereals were also there though we didn't use as we had brought our own. The house was well equipped with cooking facilities, including coffee maker. The house is large and furnished/decorated in a an eclectic combination of Irish and French cottage styles with a pronounced maritime theme. My partner loved it. It is clearly a much loved family home, though seems to have been used as a B&B in the recent past. The location is excellent for touring Connemara and only about 10 minutes drive from Clifden with it's pubs and restaurants. It is just off a reasonably busy secondary road which is not really suited for walking. So you will have to a short drive to find a walking location of which there are many nearby such as Omey Island, Connemara National Park, etc. A couple of minor downsides. Our stay over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend coincided with a stormy, wet and chilly spell. The house was cold on arrival , probably as a result of having been unoccupied for a while. It took a few days use of the central heating and peat fire (both supplied) before it was really comfortable. There were also problems with the locks on external doors which meant it wasn't possible to fully secure the property. Odile pointed this out on arrival but indicated that she never locked the doors herself. This didn't bother us (two 'senior' couples) but others might not be comfortable with it. Odile also indicated that repairs were planned. The bottom line - would we return? Absolutely yes

Hello,
My name is Odile Le Dorven, I am from Brittany in France but I leave in Connemara for the last 38 years with my husband and my 2 boys. I have celebrated my 30th birthday in Connemara (guess my age!) . Not a problem to adapt to the Irish life. The people here are so kind.
born on the shore of Brittany, my father was a fisherman and so his father and for generation. We have sea water in our blood.
I love swimming and fishing and sailing, horse riding and walking. I like to be outside to enjoy the nature.
I like people and always happy to have company
I do not like sophisticated and complicated life, (not so easy every day) I try to be myself as much as I can.
I am Odile Le Dorven
