Les Volets Vermeils is our sunny, bright and welcoming holiday home with secluded pool and garden in the heart of Codalet, near Prades.
With an historic past, this 200 year old traditional Catalan village house is the perfect base for your holiday.
Three bedrooms comfortably sleep six people in one double room and two twin rooms, all with wonderful views, especially from the living room terrace which boasts a perfect view of the Canigou mountain. We have wifi internet available at no extra cost, and each room is equipped with everything you'd need for a relaxing holiday.
The garden is set in the walls of the old barn which is reached via a short gravel path and features a raised decking area, garden area and shady patio. The plunge pool is 3.5m x 3.5m and the patio is equipped with dining table, chairs and sun-loungers. The pool is available from May - September and is heated naturally by the sun.
We have tried to be sympathetic in renovating the space but this means we had to keep the bathroom downstairs and the garden area is reached by a little gravel path from the ground floor. The kitchen and bedroom 3 is on the first floor; bedrooms 1 and 2 are on the second floor; and the living room and balcony is on the 3rd floor.
There is free parking in the village within sight of the house. Guests are welcome to use our bicycle to nip into Prades.
40 minutes’ drive to the Mediterranean beaches, 40 minutes from the Pyrenean ski resorts (by car, train or bus) and just a 10-minute stroll into Prades itself, Les Volets Vermeils is a perfect base to cater for all your holiday plans in this unspoilt region of France.

Weitere wichtige Infos
The house is arranged over four floors with some steep steps to the top floor. This is great for working off the local saucisson and vin rouge, but is not suitable for those with limited mobility or very young children. The views are worth it from the sitting room at the top, though, we promise! *Please note that there is one shower room with WC on the ground floor*
We have little cards in each room showing you how to use various appliances which our guests have suggested to us in the past. As there is so much wood in the house and barn, we would ask you not to smoke on the premises. In consideration of those who have allergies we don't accept pets at the moment.
The house is over 200 years old and thanks to considerate guests we hope it will last 200 more.
My brother, sister and I renovated this charming house in southern France to be near the mountains, the sea and to Spain. Since 2008 we've been renting it to happy guests who have left wonderful tips and ideas in our guestbook.
We love spending time at Les Volets Vermeils and do everything we can to ensure you do too.
