Welcome to Casa Del Oso in the forested neighborhood of Moonridge. Our cabin has all the comforts of home & ambiance of a mountain cabin. Set away from the traffic in town, enjoy close access to 2 mountain resorts, walk to top rated hiking/biking trails, or take a short drive to the lake, village dining & shopping. Alternatively, stay in next to a cozy fire, create memories in our game room, or enjoy our fully stocked kitchen and spacious, outdoor gathering area. We can’t wait for you to visit!

While vacation rentals were restricted these last few months, we have taken advantage of the time to make Casa Del Oso ready to welcome you back with renovations and new features.

As restrictions relax across the state, the city of Big Bear Lake is once again allowing vacation rentals to welcome guests. We care about your safety during this pandemic and have put in place extra measures to clean and sanitize our property as well as allowing a minimum of 24 hrs to pass between reservations.

Located in the popular lower Moonridge neighborhood bordering the vast San Bernardino National Forest, our cabin is a spacious yet cozy space with all the modern amenities of home. Accommodations include 2 full bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed, the other with a california king size bed. There is a full-size pull-out futon located in the game room. One full bathroom with tub/shower combo located downstairs and a ½ bathroom/laundry room combo with washer and dryer also downstairs. The eat in kitchen boasts newer appliances, cabinets and the eat in area can comfortably accommodate 6 persons. For convenience our kitchen is stocked with most of the common amenities you might need including microwave oven, coffee maker, pots, pans, bakeware, and dishes for your stay. We’ve also got your covered for all the bed linens, towels, and limited toiletries for your use. Our game room features a pool table, dart board and adequate space for your family to hang out and create memories! Outside you will find a fully fenced yard, propane grill, and fire-pit for your use.

Zugang für Gäste
As a guest at Casa Del Oso, you will have access to the entire cabin, property and parking on the driveway. Big Bear lake does not allow overnight street parking in the winter time, so please remember that you are restricted to 2 vehicles on our driveway. For our winter guests, we have a plowing service that will clear snow from the driveway and walkway to the front door. Because of the high demand for snow removal during snow events, please understand that it can be up to 24hrs before snow is cleared.

Arrival and Check In
The City of Big Bear Lake requires that all vacation rentals have their guests verified in person by the property manager within 24 hrs of arrival. In order to make your check in as smooth as possible, you will have access to an electronic lock OR box containing the keys to the property. We invite you to let yourself in, make yourself at home until the property manager is able to verify your arrival. We also recommend that between the time of your arrival and verification that you take the time to walk around the property and familiarize yourself with the condition and operation of all the amenities. This way if you have any questions, you can ask the property manager when they arrive at the property.

Check in- check out modifications
Due to the high volume of guests, especially during peak seasons and holidays, we cannot change check-in and check-out times very often. Guests are welcome to request and we will try to accommodate if we can, but are at the mercy of our cleaning crews. If we can accommodate, the first hour before or after is free but there is a $25.00/hour charge on weekdays and $50.00/hour charge on weekends if guest is requesting more than one hour added to their stay.

The person making the reservation must be present for the in person check in to take place within 24 hrs of your check in date/time. They must also be present at the property for the entire length of the reservation and be 21 years or older.

During the summer months (May-October) check in is 3pm and check out is 11am. For our winter season guests (Nov-April), check in time is 4pm and check out is 10am. Our cleaning crew will occasionally show up right after check out time. There will be a $25 charge for every 30 minutes that our cleaning crew has to wait for you to check out after the specified times. Please remember the cleaning crews have a strict schedule to keep for all the properties they need to prepare for the next guests which could be the same day.

Listed Cleaning Fee
Covers basic cleaning including washing all linens, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning/disinfecting bathrooms and kitchen. Anything above and beyond basic cleaning includes but not limited to: vomit, excessive dirt on carpet and stains on linens, furniture, or carpet. Extra cleaning fees will be determined by our cleaning crew depending on the extra time it takes to clean. Basic cleaning fee does not cover dish washing or trash removal. Big Bear Lake does not provide trash service to rental properties. In lieu of this, there is a free trash drop off location very close to the property at 41970 Garstin Drive. If you prefer not to bring your own trash to the drop off site, our cleaning crew will gladly take care of it for you for the service fee of $25 per bag of trash removed. The same policy applies to dishes, our cleaning crew does not automatically wash any dishes. Similar to trash, if you choose not to wash the dishes, our cleaners will take care of them for $25. Fees will be charged to your Airbnb account after check out per this agreement.

Our fireplace in the living room is for your use and enjoyment. Please do not break logs on the hearth as it can crack the bricks. Also, allow our cleaning service to remove ashes for you as it is a messy job that can stain or burn the carpet. We do not supply firewood for fires, however there are many firewood vendors in Big Bear Lake.

Basic items such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap and condiments are provided for your stay. The supplies are based on a 2-3 days stay. If more supplies are needed, there is a Vons 1.2 miles away on Big Bear Lake Drive and a Walgreens 0.8 miles away. Both very easily accessible.

Quiet Hours
Big Bear Lake has a city ordinance that assign 10:00PM to 7:00AM as Quiet Hours. You are free to hang out in the front or back yard after quiet time hours, but please refrain from loud music or disturbing the neighbors at this time. We ask for your cooperation in respecting our neighbors by staying within the boundaries of our property while staying at Casa Del Oso.

Please do not move the furniture as the cleaning service does not always have the personnel to move it back especially if there is another guest coming the same day. It also can damage the furniture and/or flooring.

The bedrooms are upstairs and there is a pull-out futon downstairs in the game room.

Game Room
We hope you enjoy the game room! We have a pool table, dart board and TV hookup. We ask that you do not set drinks on the pool table and please put the cover on the felt when you are not using the table.

Propane is provided for the grill and the Vons nearby has a solid selection of food for grilling. Please just be careful and also be aware of the trees near you

Heating the Cabin
There are two wall furnaces downstairs as is the common heating source in Big Bear Lake. Since heat rises they will heat the upstairs bedrooms as well though you may want to leave the bedroom door open for full benefit of the heaters. This is most applicable in the winter.

To keep cool in the summer, we encourage you to open the windows and doors with screen doors. We ask that you do not remove any screens however to keep insects and other visitors from joining you in the cabin!

Security Camera
There is an outdoor camera facing the driveway in the front yard. The camera does not have any ability to hear audio or change position remotely. Its purpose is to monitor the arrival of cleaning or maintenance crews and observe weather/property conditions in case a snow removal service must be dispatched. We highly value your privacy!

Please just have fun and relax. We have come to Big Bear for years before and after having children and want to be able to give you the same experience that allowed us to fall in love with the area. Lower Moonridge is a residential neighborhood with both full time residents and vacation rental properties situated in a well treed area that borders the San Bernardino National Forest. The tall jack and jefferson pine trees make it feel much more secluded than it actually is. Just a few blocks to the south, there is access to Fern trail which leads to the well known skyline trail that traverses the mountain ridge all the way to the top of Snow Summit and further down to Bluff Lake and Castle Rock Trail. For those less adventurous, the cabin is a short walk to the Big Bear Zoo and Golf course, and a short drive to the lake shore or shopping in the village.

Our only request is to respect our neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum and staying within the boundaries of our property which are clearly marked.
