Spacious, one bedroom, living area, kitchen, and bathroom. Faces my sunny garden and two very amusing ducks. Secluded location in South Eugene on a rustic dead end street. Pets welcome; just a quick walk to the biggest dog park in the city!
This cozy, cabin-like space features lots of charming, knotty pine, and abundant windows, which let in plenty of natural light during the day. The rooms are quite spacious, with plenty of storage. For those who enjoy cooking at home, there is a microwave, toaster oven, and two burner hot plate. You also have access to a full range and oven upstairs if you need it. You'll be facing the garden, off the street, and a path leads around back to a private entrance. Very quiet, with the occasional quacking from my two very adorable and entertaining ducks, Gretta and Jakie, who roam the backyard during the day. Five, healthy, well-fed chickens live in a coop by the back fence, and will be happy to consume your food scraps.
The property is really beautiful. Thirteen fruit trees! If you are here in the fall enjoy some harvest treats! We have cherries, apples, pears, plums, asian pears, figs, grapes and the best peaches you've ever tasted.
DOG INFORMATION: If you have a dog that has a hankering for chasing ducks, we are happy to keep the ducks in their pen when the dog is in the yard, or, you can keep your dog leashed when in the yard. Dogs interested in tearing through a wire fence, MUST be kept on leash.
If you are gone for more than a short time, your dog must be taken with you, kenneled (for no more than a few hours), or, I may be available to do some pet sitting :-)
Since this is the bottom level of our home, we can not have dogs that are left in a kennel and barking while you are gone. Keep in mind that your dog will be able to hear people moving around upstairs.
Please keep dogs off furniture. We have dog towels and covers if necessary.
There is a $10/night pet fee that is collected upon arrival.
Zugang für Gäste
There is a private entrance through the side yard and access to the main house if you need it. On a clear, Oregon day, you are welcome to enjoy the hanging swings, garden chairs, and picnic table outside your apartment door.

I live upstairs, so I'm available to help out with any needs (including dog care:-) I love getting to know new guests, but respect your space and privacy. Having lived in Eugene for 27 years, I am very familiar with all the wonderful restaurants, parks, and local events, and would be happy to make your stay more fun and comfortable by passing on helpful information.
Weitere wichtige Infos
The house was built in 1946 and has some creaky wooden floors. We are conscious of this and walk as lightly as possible) However, if you are a very light sleeper and this would disturb you, the Duck Den may not be the place for you.
The deposit covers any damage incurred.
We welcome your well behaved pets, but ask that you please keep them off the bed and other furniture. If you need to borrow a dog bed, we do have one available.
There is a washer and dryer on the property that you are welcome to use from 9am to 9pm, at no charge.
Since you will be staying in the lower level of the house, and we occupy the upper level, we try to keep noise to a minimum, and expect guests to show the same consideration.
There will be a guest information sheet on the table when you arrive.
Please let me know if you have any questions at all or if there is anything you need to make your stay more comfortable.

Hello! I'm Fran. I'm 62, active, love gardening and raising ducks and chickens– also reading, walking, hiking, traveling and hard cider tasting. I'm currently a substitute teacher (K-12) in Eugene and Springfield. Prior to this, I worked for 22 years in environmental education. I was the Education Manager at 209 acre Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, just outside of Eugene. I enjoy meeting new people, especially from other lands. I've traveled to East Africa, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, Belize, Israel, Iceland and a bit of mainland Europe. Having met so many wonderful, gracious people in my travels, I'd like nothing more than to make you feel welcome and comfortable during your stay in Eugene.
