A lovely triple windowed with a view onto the joys of the garden in all seasons. A cosy Scandinavian log fire is the cosy welcoming heart of the room. There's a single bed width sofa which lets down both of its arms with a cord and becomes a comfortable sofa bed for one person - i can also provide a single foam mattress for a 4th guest. You can drive into the garden to unload and then you can park your car in one of the many of the available free spaces one minutes walk from my house.

Captain Scott's ship The Discovery travelled to the Antarctic before finally coming to rest at the waterfront in Dundee and now forms part of a fascinating exhibition on the Antarctic and Captain (URL HIDDEN) the Verdant Works you can visit a real jute mill from the past and hear the stories retold by the descendants of the spinners and weavers of Dundee.
The Playwright Restaurant is, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Dundee and the great Cafe Sicilia - a taste of warm Italian cafe hospitality in Dundee. Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre is a short walk away, and hosts exhibitions from international artists, courses and workshops, and has two cinemas which shows the best foreign films, and some great classics as well! The university is within walking distance too.
My home is a great place for you to start exploring Dundee!

My beautiful house dates from 1857 and is an 8 minutes walk from the centre of town, up a hill , in a quiet conservation area. This not a formal bed and breakfast or a cheaper version of a hotel. People who are looking for that will be disappointed. What I offer is informal accommodation in my own home where I encourage people from all cultures to get to know each other. Tea, coffee, orange juice, bread, milk and cereal are left on the table so short term guests can get up whenever they like and help themselves to breakfast. I am resident in one or other of my two flats (they are in the same building one above the other) and I move between the two flats every day. Some of the reviews actually suggest this is hostel type accommodation and I'm happy with that description as it suggests the kind of informality I encourage. Many of my guests have stayed in touch with me after leaving and return year on year and those who feel at home in my accommodation spend time chatting and mixing with other guests and often stay in touch with other guests when they leave. I enjoy watching this exchange.
I think the most important thing in life is to never say anything to another person that could not stand as the very last thing you ever said to that person and that friendship is the most important thing in life.
