Our characteristic house (240m2), is an ex lodge of the nearby Strozzavolpe Castle. The home originates at the end of the 19th century. It was used over the years as my family's country house.

The house is very well located, just on the outskirts of the Tuscan town of Poggibonsi. In 2.5 km there are shops, grocery stores, a weekly market, theater, a charming Medieval center etc. It is located in an ideal and strategic location in the heart of Chianti. One can visit numerous famous Tuscan art cities as a day trip: San Gimignano 15 km, Siena 28 km, Volterra 30 km, Florence 38km. In a 1 hour drive one arrives in Cecina by the seaside. A cypress lined lane leads you up to the house. It is located on the top of a hill surrounded by live oak woods on one side and a romantic olive grove on the other. Off in the distance one can make out the Medieval towers of San Gimignano and the nearby castle. It is a very peaceful position. It is a large property which has been producing wine, olive oil, and vin santo since 1850 and presently produces these products in conjunction with a nearby family farm. The home is surrounded by a large lawn, ideal for soaking up the Tuscan sun or enjoying an evening meal “al fresco” under the loggia. Ample parking is available.

Ground floor: living room/dining room with fireplace in classical Tuscan style, kitchen with fireplace, 1 room, 1 single bedroom (possibility to add extra beds), 1 bathroom (hip bath). Washing machine located in separate room.
1st floor: 1 bedroom with double bed (plus a baby bed), 2 twin bedded rooms, 1 single bedroom (possibility to add 1 extra bed), 1 bathroom (with a bathtub and a shower). The house is characterized by simple furniture, a part of which is in antique Tuscan style.

This is a frozen-in-time home to experience and live an authentic Tuscan atmosphere, far away from modern day chaos. The home is an ideal retreat for a spiritual, rustic and inspirational vacation close to nature. Those who come here will find a place to enjoy the simple pleasures of olden times: a walk in the fields or in the nearby shaded woods belonging to the estate, the smell of rosemary and lavender on a summer evening, a picnic under a century old oak tree. Coming here is truly like a dream, a true paradise for nature lovers!

My hope is that writers, artists and stressed out people will come here and find a delightful place to unwind.

Public olympic size swimming pool (50 m) 2 km away. Horseback riding stables (8 km).

Born & educated in Florence Italy, I come from a family of intellectuals and art lovers who can trace their origins as far back as the Renaissance. I spent my childhood summers in the Chianti hills on our family farm. The home was originally a storehouse for agricultural tools for the nearby Strozzavolpe Castle and was used by my ancestor, Dr Alessandro Bizzarri, for his botanical studies and scientific experiments. The present day house was established in 1904. This is the land where I developed my passion for the outdoors, olive oil and wine, plants and trees. Today I am an Environmental Guide and lead cultural trips and guide hiking tours throughout Italy. For my guests, I develop custom-made local itineraries to enjoy during your stay. Come and join me on the trail!
