If you're looking for a convenience-packed, kid-friendly, home-away-from-home near Stanford, it's going to be difficult to beat a stay here.
To start, Kimberly is a wonderfully thoughtful, helpful, and attentive (though not intrusive) host. Knowing that I'd be arriving at night with two children (3 and 6), she made sure to let me know that we could use up breakfast items from the house if we'd need to before getting our groceries for the stay. She also made sure to make her own children's toys available to us, so my kids had no trouble feeling at ease in the space. She was also highly responsive to questions about local area attractions, and about the little details of everyday life in the house/neighborhood. To boot, when I accidentally left two small kids' toys behind, she promptly checked in with me and worked with me to get them sent back to us.
As to the home itself -- it is absolutely darling, and is super conveniently located (just a few minutes to Stanford and both the 280 and 101 freeways). The layout, appliances, and fixtures are all optimal for the comfort and efficiency of a family with small children. There are wonderful spaces for hanging out all together, but with a lovely rain shower and elegant furnishings, the master bedroom also serves as a perfect retreat for grown-up relaxation at the end of the day. Overall, the kitchen was probably our favorite space -- with tons of counter space, two sinks, it was easy and fun to cook meals with everyone together, which I think always makes a great foundation for a fantastic vacation!
Many, many thanks to Kimberly and her family! We will certainly look for this home again on future trips.
