After leaving San Jose you pass through the bustling ciudad (city) of Naranjo de Alajuela. You continue the vertical climb to more comfortable temperatures. Eighteen minutes later you arrive at the quaint village of Llano Bonito (beautiful flats) and in the centre of prime Arabica coffee bean growing country.

Staying at the Cucu Coffee Plantation Lodge, you have a spectacular view of neighbouring terraced farms and the Central Valley from an elevation of 5800’.

Staying at the Petisa Coffee Plantation, you have a spectacular view of neighbouring terraced farms and the Central Valley from an elevation of 5800’. The breathtaking view both day and night is but one reason for choosing to stay here

The white iron gates swing open to reveal the 2 quaint casitas and the main hacienda where I live. To the left is The Chalet fronted with a large mango tree. To the right is Cucu (cuckoo) has since been expanded twice. See link below if you want the larger property.

This 1 bedroom lodge has 1 bathroom on the main floor. We have 2 queen size tree beds. It has a fully equipped kitchen, including laundry and a sunken living room overlooking the plantation and the valley.

A BRIEF WALKABOUT:

After settling in, you will most certainly want to walk down the path through the coffee orchard. As you drop down you pass Limon and Naranjo (orange) trees. Arriving at the first shelf you look back up at the casitas and across the more expansive view of the valley to the cities of San Jose, Grecia, Atenas, and Escazu.

You are staying on an operational and very vibrant coffee farm which I run on my own. I have been doing so for the last 10 years as my Mother did for 20 years prior to that.

We encourage you to soak up the entire life on a coffee farm while you are here. Should you want to see the coffee processing facility we will do what we can.

Originally from Venezuela, via United States, I decided to spend the last years of my mother’s life here with her and running the operation.

I am an oil painter, with many pieces here in my own house and in my neighbour’s houses.  What a great place for inspiration

I have spent many years in the country can help you to make the most of your visit to Costa Rica and the area.

You are welcome to buy this locally grown coffee from me.

Nancy was an amazing host! She welcomed us when we got there and even showed us around the town a bit since we didn't have transportation. Her place is nice in the quiet countryside of Naranjo. Perfect get away from the bustle of the city.

We absolutely loved our stay with Nancy! She was very kind and helpful. Her dogs are sweet, the view is incredible, and the accommodations were the most comfortable we had our entire trip. My two friends and I were very comfortable during our stay. If I am lucky enough to pass through Costa Rica again, I will definitely stay here again!

Nancy was great. Nice clean accommodations, wonderful dogs and a small coffee farm. Big plus as she was most happy to give us a walking tour of the farm and describe the process. Very kid friendly ... night views of the central valley ... cool breezes

Nice place! Nancy is helpful and nice. The house has a beautiful view of the valley. *Is close to the main street, so it gets really noisy when a big truck is driving by.

Staying with Nancy was a pleasure. Communication prior to our trip was good. She met us in Naranjo as we were travelling from another area and led the way to her house. She graciously gave us a tour of her coffee plantation and even took us to see where the fruit was processed. The view from her property is beautiful both day and night. The accommodations were perfect. Plenty of room and we had everything to cook some meals ourselves. Nancy was right next door and helpful with providing information and directions about things to do. Nancy's two dogs are kept in her yard and are lovely. They are very happy and very rarely barked. This location was convenient for visiting several local areas and seeing the beauty of Costa Rica. Two towns are near by for any of the necessities you might need. I highly recommend Nancy and this lovely place.

Me gusta conocer diferentes culturas, comidas y compartir.
