I've been practicing yoga for 42 years and helped to found Yogaville, an intentional community south of Charlottesville in Buckingham County. I moved to Charlottesville to undertake my PhD in anthropology at the University of Virginia (2003). Since growing up in a small village in Ohio, where I felt like the odd duck, I have always sought to learn about other peoples and cultures. I wish I'd grown up bilingual! I love to sing & chant, brisk walk along oceans, lakes, or rivers, swim in cold water, read detective novels, and bake for and feed people. My quirky skills are as a water witch to dowse for water wells; and my children tell me I am a baby whisperer. Whether or not that is true, I know that when I am holding a baby, or listening to a young child, teen-ager or young adult, I don't want to be anywhere else.
As an Air BnB host, I like to think of ways for my guests to feel at-home in my cottage: warm quilts, cotton sheets, fluffy towels, books by the bedside, and the yoga room for kids of every age for runnin' n jumpin' or stretching. Please let me know how I can better serve is my life motto.
