The Bank is large and airy. Complete with a king size bed, airconditioning, and a fireplace, this room has its own bathroom with claw foot cast iron bath and shower recess. The furnishings have been described as French Provincial and vintage chic.
We are situated in the heart of the Manning Valley, 20 klms from Taree and 50 kls from Port Macquarie. The Bed and Breakfast is a lovely old house, (once housing the Managers of a Bank of New South Wales). Our guest all comment on the decor which has been described as vintage chic or French Provencial.
Zugang für Gäste
Guests have large rooms, each one with a bathroom, and one with a double ended cast iron bath. Tea and coffee making facilities are available for each room. Filtered water is always available and depending on your time of arrival all our guests are greeted with either afternoon tea or a drink and nibbles before they go out for dinner. There are good restaurants nearby or if you would rather stay in, Ken and Sal can make a special dinner for you which would be served in the guest dining room.
Interaktion mit Gästen
We respect our guests privacy. Some like a good chat and others just appreciate our good service and would rather the interaction is minimal.
Weitere wichtige Infos
This is an area which is only just being discovered. Well worth a visit. Some choose to stay here on their way north or south especially if you are travelling from Sydney to Byron or Canberra to the Gold Coast. Some of our guests have chosen McGowans for their first wedding night, a birthday or an anniversay. Why not spoil yourselves!
We try to keep rules to a minimum however there are three we must mention:
1. No smoking
2. No pets
3. The house is not designed for children, it is more a couples retreat.

Ken and I enjoy creating spaces that are beautiful, comfortable and as natural as we can make them. Sharing what we have created in this beautiful part of the world is the end result. Its so much fun meeting guests of all ages and backgrounds. Ken would say that he makes the best poached eggs in town and I would say that I make the best flourless orange cake. Our music tastes are eclectic - we belong to an a capella choir which sings anything from gospel to African and Aboriginal songsl. We have a friend who teaches yoga and we enjoy our connection with our yoga family once a week on Mitchell's Island. We both like to cook and enjoy making our guests happy through good food!
