This unique four season property sits on 13+ acres on the Penobscot River in Prospect Maine facing Winterport. There is a 1/2 mile trail down to the river, great for hiking and snowshoeing. An awesome place to unwind with easy access for exploring mid coast and downeast Maine. Less than 10 minutes to Rt 1 and The Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Rt 1A, 18 miles to Belfast, Castine, Blue Hill, Ellsworth. About an hour to Acadia NP and 45 min to Bangor. Great views of the land, river and wildlife.

Die Unterkunft
The Guesthouse has a beautiful view of the Penobscot River. It is quiet and peaceful, you can take a 1/2 mile hike down to the river or lots of great hikes nearby. This guesthouse/apartment is on the 2nd floor and I just updated deck and stairs so they are sturdy and strong. It is a cozy space with one bedroom, queen size comfy bed, full size futon pullout couch, TV with Firestick, fully equipped kitchen and full bath. I have also upgraded the Internet for those looking for a remote place that is still connected. I have been updating and up cycling so this property is a mix of old and new. Very clean, cozy and comfortable. Chalkboard painted walls, repurposed counters, new flooring/carpet, new stove and fridge, oil heat and a heat pump which is used for air conditioning in the summer, and generator on site if power goes out. There is room for two cars on either side of stairs up to the deck. This space is for up to two guests only. I appreciate sometimes guests have visitors for the day but please be clear in your communication. I live diagonally across the street in the blue house that I have posted a picture of. I am 420 friendly for those that wish to partake but keep the guesthouse clean and comfy for all :) please look at Maine.gov for travel restrictions when coming from out of state as travel from most states require a negative Covid test no more than 72 hours prior to coming. Upon arrival you will be asked to fill out a form certifying these results. Thank you for taking time to comply. We are all in this together and my space is certainly a great place to get away from it all :)

Zugang für Gäste
The entire apartment is yours while you are here. You have shared access to the 13+ acres down to the Penobscot River, fire pit, hiking and snowshoe trails. Your parking is off street next to stairs to Guest House Apartment. The land is only maintained by myself. I mow 1x week in the summer and when trees fall I remove them as quickly as we can. Part of the land is a forest so you are passing at your own risk. I also have lake kayaks for guests to rent. Must be able to transport them yourselves.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
Please park right next to the stairs to the deck on either side and leave room for a car to get in and out of the enclosed carport attached to building. I own the property on both sides of the road and the Guesthouse and Ranch House sit close to the road but it is not very busy as Bowden Point is NOT a through road. It dead ends at the Quarry and at Bowden Point Extension. During the school year the school bus does a turn around at the end of the road so you may hear some beeping in the am M-F. One of my neighbors waits for the bus with her kids so you may see a car parked nearby waiting around 7-7:15 am. In summer Maine is quite buggy and I do not use chemicals on the land. Must be tick aware as well and please ask if you are not sure :) The land up from the dirt road is now managed by the State and is conservation land. Hunter orange should be worn during hunting season, Fall/Winter/Spring seasons. I do have some to borrow at the Guesthouse.

Bowden Point Road is a beautiful hilly, winding road on the Bowden Point peninsula. We have, children, horses, wild turkeys, deer, coyotes, porcupines, and many beautiful birds so take your time on the road. It is very dark at night but always well maintained year round. In winter it does help to have good winter tires/studs to get up and down the hills on this road. Please drive with caution and at a reasonable speed as there are no posted speed limit signs but this is a neighborhood.
The land next to mine is now owned and operated as conservation land so there are lots of access to get out and about from the property, but please know hunting is allowed. Please make sure to wear hunter orange during hunting season. I always have some clothing available if you don’t.
Our closest neighbors are a young family and they are sometimes out playing basketball or riding bikes.
There is a quarry and redemption center up the Quarry road and they are both in use but for the most part there is not very much traffic. At times big trucks may come by.
The Penobscot River is a tidal river meaning there is a high tide and low tide each 2x/day. This part of the river is not for swimming but there are fantastic lakes and swimming nearby. Please see my Guidebook on this site.

Während deines Aufenthaltes
I do live diagonally across the street and I am available when needed but want you to enjoy this space and I respect my guests privacy. I want you to enjoy your home away from home!
Note: If storms cause power to go out and leaves snow to shovel, I reserve the right to shovel and set up generator as needed and I apologize in advance if that bothers you :)
