We're a busy, well-travelled family who moved to Manchester over 10 years ago. We live in the floors upstairs with our children, and both work full time and hold senior jobs in academia and local governments. But always find time for a a chat and give directions as to why Manchester is such a great place to live and visit
You can walk to Didsbury village (less than 5 minutes) where all the shops, restaurants, high-end as well as discount supermarkets, and pubs are, as well as the bus stops and the metrolink station. Buses and the metrolink run all day long and whisk you to the Manchester city centre in less than 20 minutes, as well as can take you directly to the airport. Didsbury itself has beautiful parks notably the famous Fletcher Moss. Didsbury is a fantastic, cosmopolitan neighborhood in the south of Manchester, with a village atmosphere. It is a very desirable neighborhood, with good schools, where a gamut of professionals and academics from around the world and who work in the city centre choose to live.
We are a global family, born in Lisbon, Portugal, educated in California (U.C. Berkeley), and currently living and working in the city of Manchester, United Kingdom, since 2002 with 4 children. We have properties in Didsbury, the most desirable residential district in Manchester (so-called Manchester's Islington in reference to the popular residential district in London ). In addition, we keep a small flat in a XVIII century traditional architecture building in central Lisbon, a stone's throw away from the magnificient 18th century Basilica da Estrela , the luxurious Jardim da Estrela, and the first stop of the famous 28 tram that loops around Lisbon in a most scenic route.
