This beautiful cottage is located at the base of Spencer Butte on the Spencer Hollow Homestead. The cottage is located on a small family farm, with basic accommodations, and is ten minutes from downtown Eugene, hiking trails, and wineries. The cottage has one very comfortable double bed and one very comfortable futon mattress/couch. The cottage is considered a studio since the floor plan is open with kitchenette, living room (cozy futon) and a bedroom that is separate but has no door.
The Spencer Hollow Homestead is a small family collective, with our primary focus being sustainability, animal husbandry, and organic gardening. We love our land, and love even more sharing it with people. The water comes from a rainwater catchment system and onsite well. We invite you to stay for a quiet getaway, although due to the nature of four of us living on the land, it is not so private that you won't run into a neighbor, chicken, dog, or barn cat! We have five acres, and are close to town.
Zugang für Gäste
Guests are free to explore the land and all it's beauty. Upon request and host availability, guests may not only visit with the goats and chickens, but may learn some animal husbandry and gardening skills along the way!
Weitere wichtige Infos
If you are staying in the cottage, depending on the time of year there may be a slight discoloration of water due to tannins from the trees. The water is filtered, clean and safe to drink.
Jen and Matthew live right next door to the cottage. We expect guests to be quiet in the evenings, and respectful of our land. Visits with the animals must be requested and if available, we are happy to oblige. Sorry, there are no pets allowed at the HOUSE or the cottage. This is a non-smoking home.
We are quiet neighbors, and respect one's request for privacy. We are also social people. If we have visitors who are social as well, we are happy to answer any questions about Eugene, local hikes, wine tasting routes, farming, or any other interests!
Mimi, Zach, Jen, and Matthew all live collectively at the Spencer Hollow Homestead. We are a combination of naturalists, herbalists, teachers, non-profit managers, and engineers! We all love animals and living off this beautiful piece of land. We welcome you to our space to have privacy, or join us for an afternoon hike or beverage!
