This is a full two-bedroom suite very popular with families. Includes a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and dining and living area. Has it's own entrance and a large screen TV. It's like having your own private cottage. During the summer we only accept two-night or more bookings.

Stay in a country Doctor's century home in rural Ontario, as one of our guests said, “Walking in the door to the Doctor's House is like entering the portal to another era. The décor and attention to detail sweep you back to the feeling and charm of a younger Canada in it's beginnings. The Doctor's House is really a “home” with a welcome in every room.”

We serve home cooked local organic, where possible, food and cater to special diets such as gluten free, vegetarian, diabetic, etc.

Our specialty is Bavarian Pancake made with locally grown and milled flour and served with local maple syrup and a fresh fruit and yogurt cup. We use fresh roasted free trade coffee and a special Earl Grey tea.

We are near the best beaches and sunsets in the world, take a walk on trails through the Niagara Escarpment a UNESCO World Biosphere reserve, or if you are more energetic, you can hike the Bruce Trail, which runs along the edge of the escarpment and gives spectacular views of Georgian Bay one of the largest fresh water bays in the world. It is so large most people think of it is a separate lake but it is really part of Lake Huron.

If you like waterfalls then we have many that are just a short walk from your car or some that you have to hike to through some very scenic countryside.

If wine is your choice, then it might surprise you that we have a number of excellent wineries in our area, but if beer is more to your taste we also have some excellent craft breweries.

We are located between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay in the Famous Great Lakes recreation and tourist area.

Dive or take a glass-bottom boat cruise in the Fathom Five National Park at Tobermory.
Boat cruise to Flower Pot Island where you can tour the lighthouse and hike the island.
Hike to the Grotto in the Bruce Peninsula National Park (this is a beautiful cave).

We are also near 15 distinctive lighthouses and marine heritage sites, many local markets, great fishing, canoeing, and kayaking in the many rivers and lakes, excellent cycling, museums and several golf courses.

In the winter we have some of the best snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and ice fishing. We also have dog sledding in the area.

Great place to celebrate special events such as, weddings, family reunions, women's or wellness retreats, special birthdays and anniversaries, etc.

For an excellent family activity, we have the EXPLORE THE BRUCE ADVENTURE PASSPORT that sends you to very interesting places in our area. When you find 7 out of the 12 listed, you will receive a tee shirt and an entry for a draw of bigger prizes. All of this is FREE.

If you are looking for beaches, adventure, exploring or peace and quiet, this area has it all.

Breakfast cereals were available but no one requested them. Special diets, etc. should be given to us when booking, ie: gluten or dairy free, vegetarian, so we can obtain the necessary food. Thank you.

Charming hosts, beautiful heritage house! We stayed in the Crow's Nest and it had everything we needed for a lovely getaway. Situated right in town, it was just a short walk to pick up a take-out dinner. Delicious breakfast in the morning, and it was lovely to meet the other guests over Bavarian pancakes!

We lived in John and Miriam's place for three nights. Every morning we had different delicious breakfast from different culture made by John and his lovely wife Miriam. We felt very happy and lucky to be looked after so well by them. They offered us help and recommended very charming places in South Bruce Peninsula, and we enjoyed the four-day trip there. We stayed in crown's nest in the big house. I think it is very suitable for 4 people. It even has a little bed for babies. The house is large and very clear. Everything is in order. The beds felt great. It was rainy in our first 3-day tripping. Luckily, the last day was a really good day. We had really good experience on the boat to flowerpots island and in the two national parks. And by the way, the products of Bee by the See sold by John and Miriam are worth buying. I love the hand cream very much. However, Miriam didn't have much of them. If I ever had chance to visit Bruce again, I will be very happy to live here again! Love this place!
