A private room with a view of rolling hills and fields. Ideal for a deep sleep after a long flight into Shannon and a restful hub for visiting nearby attractions, Wild Atlantic way, Cliffs of Moher, Burren National Park, Bunratty Castle, Galway city, other more distant sights are possible on a day trip. Just outside the door we have beautiful short walks on small winding roads and hiking trails among megalithic sites where foxes, hares, badgers and other feral creatures are often spotted.
Originally a small two roomed thatched cottage, this 200 yr old farm cottage was converted to a two story slate roof when emigrants of the 1800's sent money home. Many renovations later we have a more modern feel with a large bathroom and kitchen however improvements are continuing with this quaint old world house.
Have breakfast whenever you wish, bring your own groceries and enjoy making what you like within the view of the garden but without meat please or have a light breakfast provided, just let me know.
The collage photos are credited to the talented Lou Endicott from Melbourne who stayed at Druid cottage, next door.

A born wanderer from Dublin I settled in Clare to raise my children and immerse myself in rural life and textiles. I’ve enjoyed some world travel and today I love to wander from France to Ireland and back again, walking hills and coastal paths gathering inspiration for my work and enjoying locally produced organic food, and a good read by the fire at night. I also very much enjoy welcoming people to both my homes and offering help or advice on places to visit, allowing you your space as I appreciate mine.
