Gualdo is a small village on the Tuscany hills between Lucca and the seaside, Viareggio. The house originally comprised a room to dry chestnuts (open fire on the bottom, grid on the top), called Metato, and a storage and wine making area.
The restructuring was done in full respect with the traditional construction materials. Some flooring brick tiles (called “mezzane”) were recovered and reused, the ones missing are from dismantled floors of ancient buildings in the area.
The master bedroom and a full bathroom are on the ground floor. The living room /kitchen is upstairs, as well a small bedroom and a half bathroom.
The house can accommodate up to four people ( two adults and two children or three adults), but please note that bedroom upstairs is rather small.
There is some old family furniture and a brand new kitchen, fully equipped.
