Welcome to Windcrest Loft, where we keep busy learning homesteading arts from gardening and canning to shelling black walnuts and caring for our six chickens. Our two and a half acre "farmette" has a lovely garage loft apartment which we originally renovated as an art studio. Mostly self taught, I paint what I love and specialize in pet portraits in acrylics. I enjoy hiking the many trails nearby and singing in our church choir and sometimes the community choir at Western Carolina University. The university helps make this mountain town a unique combination of mountain heritage and modern culture. I share the farm house next to the Loft with my three-legged cat and wonderful husband. We found this property almost three years ago, and since then so many people have told us how lucky we are to have found such a beautiful place. Sharing our guest cottage with visitors lets us share this good fortune and meet new people.
