Lionel has a nice and cozy apartment in the very center of Lyon (5min walk from La place de l'Opera). It's a good choice for you if you yearn for a cultural experience with a touch of "au lyonnais" and do not aim for a freshly-built building, because the apartment – renovated and itself modern – is situated in an old building in a historic quarter.
Lionel's home is very homely and clean, there's everything you need from forks till wine glasses and speakers to put your music on. The bed is big and comfy, the pillows are great and there's a also massive and super soft blanket that we appreciated very much:)
Although the cuisine itself is more student-like and it's not equipped with oven, but for simpler dishes the microwave and portable stove will do the job just fine. However, Lionel's washing machine is a plus when you're staying for a longer period.
At first the hallway may seem a bit scary, especially at night (it's an ancient building) and it takes a bit effort to climb up the stairs every now and then, the apartment itself is situated in a safe neighbourhood and a bit walking doesn't too harm (especially when you're heading for "un petit croissant au beurre" ;)).
