Der Wohnraum

This is not an independent cabin but B&B within a family house.

El Manantial is a cosy house made of logs situated 20 minutes from the charming town of El Bolson 130km south of Bariloche and is surrounded by native woodlands and within near access to mountain rivers and lakes.

There are three bedrooms available: one with a double bed, one with two single beds and one with a single bed. The rooms are simply furnished with great views from the windows of the woodlands. You will wake to the chirps and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)ings of the many local birds!
THE PRICE QUOTED IS PER PERSON PER NIGHT

You can enjoy a hot shower in the shared bathroom after a pleasant day's outdoor activities. There is a washing machine available.

The kitchen/dining/ sitting area is pleasant and special with the log walls and when the weather is warm meals are served outside in the garden under the trees. There is nothing like waking up and having breakfast in the morning sun enjoying homemade bread and jams and the beverage you like best in the morning to get the day started.

There is no television but an extensive library of books awaits your perusal! Imagine yourself in the hammock beneath the trees on a summer's afternoon with a good book! For those who have ebook readers here is a program available for downloading free ebooks.

El Manantial is set in 4 hectares (10 acres) of mixed native woodland with access to a stream one end and a river the other where there are some choice bathing pools to enjoy on a hot day.
Nearby there is a lovely waterfall 20 minutes walk away and in this quiet rural area full of farms and small holdings there are some good walks.
El Manantial is 20 minutes by car to the town of El Bolson where you can wander around the local crafts and product market and savor the local ice creams which are full of local soft fruits and other exotica.

Nearby there is a grill which serves delicious Patagonian lamb cooked on a cross spit and other meats and dishes, set by the river that runs through the property.
If you don't have your own transport, there are some local buses, more in the summer than other times of year and taxis are reasonably priced. It is quite safe to thumb a lift downtown and the locals are kind, stop and are happy to chat to you.

Trekking is the ideal activity to enjoy at any time of year: 13 mountain huts await the walker around El Bolson.

There are walks for all levels and demands. The spectrum ranges from a short and pleasant ride to Cerro Amigo, to a three-day trek to the Rock of Time. Shelters known-and-runs are the Cajon del Azul, the Motoco, the Piltriquitrón, Cerro Lindo and Hielo Azul.

You should bring appropriate clothing and shoes, something to drink and eat though in many of the well organised refuge huts you can buy food.

There are several lakes in the Bolson area. You can get to Lago Puelo by bus from the centre of el Bolson but for other lakeside ventures you would need a vehicle.

Organic food is served from the vegetable garden and local sources where possible. Good home cooking with guests asking for more! Wifi available. Ideal place to chill out and to be active with plenty of adventure activities in the area from horse riding to rafting. A place you won't forget and will want to recommend.

We had a fantastic time staying at Rosie's place. The wooden house in the middle of nature, the horse in the garden, the home made bread, the delicious chutney and most of all the hospitality of Rosie made our stay unforgetable. Furthermore Rosie is a very interesting Person to talk with. For is it was also a great help that she speaks perfekt english and spanish. We can only recommend to stay with her.

Thank you Rosie for a great stay. I really loved your place including the nice garden and the caring attitude. The place is quite remote from El Bolson and the perfect place to relax. Rosie is a great host. It is hard to describe how she is always there to help and at the same time never disturbs. Thank you very much.

La casa de rousie es un lugar maravilloso con mucha naturaleza alrededor, y para disfrutar del silencio, si se va en vehículo las distancias son muy pequeñas, Rousie es una persona muy calida y amable y la casa parece de cuentos.

Staying at Rosie's is a real Airbnb experience in the middle of the Patagonian mountains. Her home made food is excellent. Breakfast with home made bread, jam and fresh food from the garden. At night she serves a healthy (with vegs from the garden) dinner for an additional fee. From her house you can walk straight into the mountains or hitchhike to town or Warthon (for the Cajon del Azul hike). Rosie is helpfull and speaks fluent english and spanish. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend to anyone who loves peace and nature.

We are a family of city dwellers so it was quite a change of scene for us when we stayed at Rosie's rustic cottage. Rosie explained we were the first family with kids she had hosted and I must admit I did initially feel we were somewhat invading her home. The large property is located quite far out of town at the end of a very bumpy gravel road. The house is cute but basic. One will not find any luxury mod-cons or furnishings. However the beds are comfy and Rosie is a great cook. She is a very kind host and we enjoyed many interesting and enriching conversations. It was fascinating to talk with another expat who had chosen a very different path to our own. Our young boys loved the property and especially the streams and rivers. We felt completely at ease letting them roam and explore by themselves. If you are in need of a simple and peaceful stay far from the madding crowd, Rosie's retreat could well be the perfect getaway. Definitely a memorable and rewarding experience.

Staying at Rosie's lovely cottage in the beautiful countryside just outside El Bolson was an absolute treat after stays in San Martin & Bariloche towns. Her breakfasts - & evening meals, featuring much home grown and hand made produce were unbeatable. We had lots of interesting discussions and useful advice. Rosie was a helpful and generous host who enhanced our 3 day stay in El Bolson. If you want to stay in a rustic cottage with a beautiful garden, fruit trees, vegetable patch and acres of forest - with a charming host - this is your place.
