Leave the bustle of the big city behind for a breath of fresh air at the 'Hudson House,' a 7-bed, 3-full bath home that comfortably sleeps 17. Built in 1928, this original Adirondack tourist home pairs modern day comforts with age-old charm to create a getaway that is as delightful as it is convenient. Ski Gore, look for waterfalls in our 3-acre forest, skip stones on the Hudson across the way or just enjoy a glass of wine on the front porch - life is what you make it at the ‘Hudson House.’

Die Unterkunft
First Floor: Bedroom 1 (Sleeping Bear): Queen Bed | Second Floor: Bedroom 2 (Ruby Run): Queen Bed | Bedroom 3 (Quicksilver): Queen Bed | Bedroom 4 (Chatiemac): King Bed | Bedroom 5 (Twister): Full Bed, Twin Bed | Bedroom 6 (Topridge): Queen Bed | Third Floor Attic Loft: Bedroom 7 (Hawkeye): 2 Twin Beds | Additional Sleeping: 2 Twin Air Mattresses

You'll feel right at home the moment you arrive at the ‘Hudson House.' This gracious home has 4,100 square feet of living space that maintains its historic charm while incorporating modern updates and brand new furnishings.

Open the door to find a beautiful main floor with a bedroom, bathroom, and multiple conversation areas. Refuel the crew with a home-cooked feast. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and ample space to assist with any dish. Set out appetizers on the large island before the main course is served in the dining room. Relax after dinner in the gathering room - where comfortable couches surround the Garnet rock gas fireplace and a flat-screen TV. Or, retreat out front to the expansive sunroom to put your feet up with a glass of wine or cup of coffee and watch the river.

Our younger (or young at heart) guests can also move the fun downstairs to the fully furnished basement to watch a movie on the flat-screen TV or engage in a friendly game of ping pong in the adjacent room.

The basement also contains one very special renovation done with skiers, hikers, rafters and adventurers in mind. The “Rack Room” is a large, climate controlled, area with ski/snowboard racks, clothes drying racks, cubbies, hooks for camping gear, washer/dryer and ample seating for gearing up. Accessible directly from the back porch, guests can store all of their gear inside without cluttering up bedrooms or bathrooms on the main levels.

When your day in the mountains is complete, go up the original staircase to our 5 second floor bedrooms. Each bedroom is as unique as the ski runs they are named after with 3 Queen beds, 1 King bed, and a white birch bunkbed. Two more bathrooms provide guests with a luxurious choice between the “Moose” walk-in shower or a relaxing soak in the antique tub. Finally, the third-floor attic loft has two twin beds (with space for an additional 2 twin air mattresses). Add window seats and a sitting area with a TV and you have the perfect space for our younger guests to claim as “their own clubhouse.”

The appeal of the ‘Hudson House’ does not end indoors. Each season brings its own unique beauty to the ‘Hudson House” property. Be sure to explore our 3 acres of backyard woods where the only sounds are the trickling creeks and secret waterfalls. Nice day outside? Change up your usual routine with a picnic in the Adirondack Summer House, a walk on our trails or just sit on a rock overlooking Raymond Brook with a camera in hand. The property also extends across the street to the Hudson River. Our riverbank access has gorgeous views of the water and lots of places to dip in your toes.

Hier wirst du sein

North Creek, New York, Vereinigte Staaten

The 'Hudson House' is uniquely situated to serve 4 seasons of outdoor activities in the Adirondacks.

Whether you're new to the slopes or a ski pro, you'll love Gore Mountain, New York State’s largest ski and ride resort. Just 3 miles away, Gore Mountain offers 4 peaks of alpine terrain and events held year-round at the mountain base. Other winter activities include snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tubing and cross-country skiing. Lake Placid and Whiteface are also 90 minutes away if you want to enjoy a day of skiing, shopping or exploring the Olympic sites and museums.

During the summer and fall season, Gore also has gondola rides, downhill mountain biking, hiking excursions, adventure attractions, and mini and disc golf. There are also special events such as the Gore Mountain Harvest Fest which features local artisans, live music and more.

If you're up for a bit of adventure, head to Beaver Brook Outfitters, Square Eddy Expeditions, or Adirondack River Outfitters for a white water rafting trip along the Hudson.

Experience the railroad-less-traveled with Revolution Rail. Hop on a one-of-a-kind rail bike in North Creek and pedal your way across the Adirondacks - don't forget your camera so you can snap photos of the leaves changing in the fall.

Spend the day living like a local with a trip into town. Window-shop your way through downtown North Creek, walk the shores of Lake George, or catch a train to Saratoga Springs where you can place your bets at the Saratoga Race Course.

North Creek is also a gateway to Siamese Ponds Wilderness, Sargent Pond Wild Forest, Hudson Gorge Wilderness, High Peaks Wilderness, and Little Moose Mountain Wilderness. There are numerous hiking trails and trailheads close by. ADK 46’ers have used the ‘Hudson House’ as a relaxing “basecamp” while hiking Cliff Mountain and Mount Redfield among others.

15 minutes north puts you on the shores of Indian Lake and the lakes continue on – so many that some have numbers instead of names – Seventh Lake, Fourth Lake, Thirteenth Lake, Raquette Lake, and Long Lake.

Other area highlights include: The North Creek Depot Museum (5 mins), Barton Mines Mineral Shop and Tours (15 mins), The Adirondack Experience: Museum on Blue Mountain (30 minutes), Great Camp Sagamore (60 minutes), The Wild Center (60 minutes), Ausable Chasm (70 minutes).
