Porthmeor Heights is a fantastically spacious and extremely bright modern townhouse situated above Porthmeor Beach on an elevated position, just 5 minutes’ walk from beach, Tate Gallery and town centre.

Porthmeor Heights is unusual in that it is extremely spacious and open-plan thanks to 5m high ceiling in the lounge. It has parking for one car and is just a 5 minute walk away from Porthmeor Beach, the Tate and town centre.

Guests will have use of the whole house except for one small room with electricity meter, bedding and cleaning materials.

I welcome my guests at 3 pm on the day of arrival after personally cleaning the apartment and show them around the place and answer all their questions.

Smoking is not allowed inside, but you can go out on the small patio (with table and 2 chairs) to smoke. As you do have neighbours kindly respect their need for quiet after 11 pm. No hen or stag parties, i.e. no same sex parties allowed.

Great apartment, great location close to porthmeor beach, Tate St Ives and St Ives town centre, but lovely and quiet and away from hustle and bustle of the town. This apartment has a great sense of style and space. Martina is a great host.

This is the most amazing flat! We spent a week in wonderful St. Ives and so glad that we picked Martina's flat. It's away from the hustle and bustle but a short walk to everything you need. Our favourite beach and beach-cafe was just a quick walk down the hill. The flat itself enjoys incredibly high ceilings so you get a real sense of space. It's well equipped and cosy. We would return in a heartbeat.

The apartment was just as we expected it to be, clean, modern, airy and comfortable. Beds were really comfortable and the apartment fully equipped for when we wanted to eat at home. Wifi worked well (which my son and his dad were relieved about) and we had the use of the TV and DVD player for the evenings. The area was so convenient for the beaches and the town centre and harbour. Porthmeor beach, a favourite for surfers, was just a few minutes walk down the steep hill. The close proximity to the beaches was ideal for me as an amateur photographer, as I was able to get up particularly early and get down to the beaches or harbour before sunrise. We were met by Martina who was very delightful and gave us an overview of the facilities before handing us over two sets of keys (which proved useful for us). Aside from the five beaches within close proximity to us, the apartment was an ideal base from which we explored other areas in the South - Sennen Cove, Lands End, Penzance and St Michael's Mount, Lizards Point, The Minack Theatre, Geevor Mine and more. It was always lovely to get back to the apartment at the end of the day and then walk into town for a good meal at one of the many restaurants or pubs. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week there and could have happily stayed longer. The benefit of a parking space for the week also saved us having to pay out for parking in one of the local car parks. I would recommend the apartment to anyone wishing to go to St Ives. I would just highlight the steep walks to get back to the apartment which may be an issue for some people but there is also a Number 6 bus that will bring you back up the hill and drop you off close to the apartment. All in all, perfect!

By accident I pressed a wrong key on my smartphone when the booking request came in, accepting the booking and then immediately called Philip to let him know that it was an accident as the week had already booked on a second letting website. Sometimes there is just not the time to update the calendars. I would not cancel people's booking so short before their holidays, unless it was a serious emergency.
