We had a great time in this big house, with a very typical architecture in a lovely mountain village. We especially appreciated breakfasts in the sun with an amazing view on the mountains surrounding and quick access to hiking path. We could also visit Milano and Torino, but we didn't have enough time for Lake Como. Marco and his family are lovely hosts, very helpful, and you can ask them for all the advice you need for visiting the region.
Marco's house is a fantastic traditional house in a small hamlet 10 miles from Biella. We loved it for the views, the tranquility and the lack of tourists. If you are not happy to leave your car at the bottom of the village and walk up steep steps to the house this may not be for you. Similarly, if you want modern conveniences it may not be for you - the electrics are limited so they will trip out if you have the water heaters and the dishwasher at the same time - but the log burner and wood stove are just great and make for a really cosy lounge in the evening. We also had a brilliant barbecue one evening overlooking the mountains. A place you must not miss to eat in is a little bar / restaurant in the village below - you walk past the church and down a steep path for about 15 minutes to get to it. 25 minutes to get back! The food is local traditional and amazing value. We paid 60 Euros for 4 people for 3 courses with wine (quite a lot!). You do need to call in and book as it is very small. But well worth it. We would definitely stay at Marco's house again as we like peace and traditional but the choice is yours!
